Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Die Bedeutung von IT-Entwicklungsprojekten hat in den vergangenen Jahren stetig zugenommen, ebenso wie der Umfang und damit auch die Komplexität solcher Projekte. Dieser Trend wird sich auch in den folgenden Jahren weiter fortsetzen und verstärken. Darüber hinaus gewinnt die Entwicklung integrierter, also in Hardware eingebetteter Software-Systeme, wie beispielsweise für Mobiltelefone, KFZs oder Flugzeugen, zunehmend an Bedeutung, wodurch sich die Entwicklungskomplexität noch weiter erhöht. Der CHAOS-Report von 2004 der Standish Group zeigt beispielhaft, dass ein alarmierend großer Teil aller begonnenen Entwicklungsprojekte im IT-Bereich nicht erfolgreich abgeschlossen wird. Der Report nennt zudem auch die 10 wichtigsten Erfolgsfaktoren für die Projektbearbeitung mit jährlich angepasster Gewichtung der Relevanz (Daten von 2000): - Executive support: 18%. - User involvement: 16%. - Experienced project manager: 14%. - Clear business objectives: 12%. - Minimized scope: 10%. - Standard software infrastructure: 8%. - Firm basic requirements: 6%. - Formal methodology: 6%. - Reliable estimates: 5%. - Other criteria: 5%. Alle diese Erfolgsfaktoren werden entscheidend durch ein methodisches Vorgehensmodell wie das in dieser Arbeit besprochene V-Modell XT beeinflusst. Somit kann ein solches Modell auf vielen Ebenen die Wahrscheinlichkeit für einen erfolgreichen Projektabschluss erhöhen. Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt in aktuellen Entwicklungsprojekten ist die Qualitätssicherung. Mangelnde Qualität führt dabei zu hohen Reparaturkosten am fertigen Produkt, Imageverlust, Verlust von Marktanteilen und Umsatz, und in sicherheitskritischen Bereichen wie Luft- und Raumfahrt und Medizintechnik sogar zu Schäden an Personen. Hohe Qualität ist dagegen ein an Bedeutung zunehmender Wettbewerbsvorteil und eine umfassende Qualitätssicherung wirkt sich auf längere Sicht zudem kostensparend aus, womit sich der Gesamtgewinn einer Unternehmung nachhaltig steigern lässt. Die hinreichend bekannte Qualitätsnorm DIN ISO 9001:2000 gibt dabei einen Rahmen vor, wie ein dafür geeignetes Qualitätsmanagementsystem innerhalb einer Organisation auszusehen hat. Diese Arbeit untersucht die Einsatzmöglichkeiten des V-Modell XT als Vorgehensmodell für Entwicklungsprojekte im Rahmen einer umfassenden Qualitätssicherung nach ISO 9001:2000.
