Over the years, he has met many of Australia's art world luminaries. Moore can be cited as a late 20th early 21st century Artist. David was primarily taught to paint by his father, Graham Moore, who adhered unerringly to the Melbourne Meldrum School doctrine. David is also a generous painting teacher having taught for over 30 years at Monsalvat, Australia's first artist's colony in Eltham, on Melbourne's leafy fringe. He now teaches tonal painting in Elphinstone, in central Victoria, Australia.David had a solid base from which to springboard his own painting oeuvre, and although he explored a few 20th century 'isms', David continues to return to reflective, quiet paintings which 'whisper from the wall'.
