(1) CATHERINE Zodra Catherine Calhoun de naam op de haar toegeschoven creditcard leest, slaat haar stemming volledig om. Zojuist vond ze de man wiens dure wagen ze in haar garage heeft gerepareerd nog aardig en charmant, nu kan ze zijn bloed wel drinken. Hij heet namelijk Trenton St. James III en is dus de rijkeluiszoon die haar zusjes en haar hun geliefde huis wil ontnemen! Strijdlustig neemt ze zich voor zijn bod nooit te accepteren, hoe welkom het geld ook is. Het zou doodzonde zijn als hij de kans kreeg hun oude, karakteristieke huis te verbouwen en in te lijven bij zijn smakeloze hotelketen. Koppig steekt ze haar kin in de lucht en vertelt ze hem precies hoe ze over hem denkt. Trenton blijkt echter minstens even strijdlustig en koppig als zij... (2) AMANDA Al de hele dag rent Amanda Calhoun van hot naar her om een waslijst van klusjes af te werken. Helaas zit alles tegen, en dat terwijl ze nog een heleboel moet organiseren voor de bruiloft van haar zus Catherine.
