Migraties en de multiculturen die daar rechtstreeks uit voortvloeien, zijn door de hele beschavingsgeschiedenis eerder regel dan uitzondering. In elk rijk werd er gemengd en gemixt, geëmigreerd en geïmmigreerd, meestal met véél bloed, zweet en tranen. Toch heeft het ontzettend lang geduurd alvorens de wetten en mores die stelden wat mocht en niet mocht kritisch in vraag werden gesteld. De mensenrechten bijvoorbeeld, een vrij recente humane uitvinding, wordenbegrijpelijkerwijs met alle kracht verdedigd en het minste euvel in dat verband wordt als een onmiddellijk te verwijderen smet gezien. De dwangmatigheid echter waarmee dat geschiedde en de naïviteit die daarbij tentoongespreid werd, leverden een hysterische politieke correctheid op, die, na het failliet van het communisme (marxisme), de behoefte aan een utopie bleef invullen via de nieuwe ideologie van een overspannen multiculturalistische idylle. Pas na 9/11 werd dan toch voorzichtig plaats ingeruimd voor een kritiek op het naïeve en hyperkinetische multiculturalisme en werd gepleit voor de terugkeer van wat gezond verstand. Dit boek gaat in op de progressivistische gedachteloosheid van de multiculturalistische elite. Het houdt tegelijk, onder meer geïnspireerd door intellectuelen uit de moslimwereld, een kritisch pleidooi voor een bedachtzamer omgang met de multicultuur.
