* "This doggy diva is queen of the catwalk." -Oprah Winfrey, The Oprah Winfrey Show * Zelda is the official "spokesdog" for Delta Society Pet Partners, an international program dedicated to the human-animal healing bond. With a full line of Zelda Wisdom cards, calendars, gift kits, other licensed products, and seven previous books under her collar, Zelda now dispenses her advice on her popular weekly Dear Zelda column on www.zeldawisdom.com. At the core of Zelda's wisdom is a focus on humor and healing. As owner Carol Gardner explains, "Zelda always makes me laugh. She's proof that you don't have to be thin, rich, young, or wrinkle-free to be successful. More important, you don't have to be perfect to be happy." From peer pressure to retirement and from sibling rivalry to toxic relationships and much more, Zelda's advice allows us to laugh at ourselves and realize that in life's ups and downs, we are never alone. Tough when necessary, and tender when needed, there is a little Zelda in all of us!

Dear Almost is a book-length poem addressed to an unborn child lost in miscarriage. Beginning with the hope and promise of springtime, poet Matthew Thorburn traces the course of a year with sections set in each of the four seasons. Part book of days, part meditative prayer, part travelogue, the poem details a would-be father’s wanderings through the figurative landscapes of memory and imagination as well as the literal landscapes of the Bronx, Shanghai, suburban New Jersey, and the Japanese island of Miyajima. As the speaker navigates his days, he attempts to show his unborn daughter “what life is like / here where you ought to be / with us, but aren’t.” His experiences recall other deaths and uncover the different ways we remember and forget. Grief forces him to consider a question he never imagined asking: how do you mourn for someone you loved but never truly knew, never met or saw? In candid, meditative verse Dear Almost seeks to resolve this painful question, honoring the memory of a child who both was and wasn’t there.

Get an unrestricted peek inside a real life version of the TV show Frasier, if the Cranes were from Mississippi. In a fit of post 40th birthday generosity, displaced Southern Gentleman and Writer, Dusty Thompson, invites his redneck father to live with him in California. Not knowing what to expect as their life-long relationship has been very subdued, if informal, not unlike those of an English Lord and his downstairs staff, Dusty feels sure two adults can be successful roommates. However, when his Dad shows up with the largest La-Z-Boy recliner in America, and a dog named Lulu, in the back of his pick-up, Dusty realizes the only thing they have in common is oddly short legs and the belief he is adopted.

No country is as misunderstood as North Korea, and no modern tyrant has remained more mysterious than the Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il. Now, celebrity ghostwriter Michael Malice pulls back the curtain to expose the life story of the "Incarnation of Love and Morality." Taken directly from books spirited out of Pyongyang, DEAR READER is a carefully reconstructed first-person account of the man behind the mythology. From his miraculous rainbow-filled birth during the fiery conflict of World War II, Kim Jong Il watched as his beloved Korea finally earned its freedom from the cursed Japanese. Mere years later, the wicked US imperialists took their chance at conquering the liberated nation—with devastating results. But that's only the beginning of the Dear Leader's story. In DEAR READER, Kim Jong Il explains: *How he can shrink time *Why he despises the Mona Lisa *How he recreated the arts in Korea *Why the Juche idea is the greatest concept ever discovered by man *How he handled the crippling famine *Why Kim Jong Un was chosen as successor over his elder brothers With nothing left uncovered, drawing straight from dozens of books, hundreds of articles and thousands of years of Korean history, DEAR READER is both the definitive account of Kim Jong Il's life and the complete stranger-than-fiction history of the world's most unique country.

Dear Life written by Alice Munro and has been published by Vintage this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-13 with Fiction categories.

WINNER OF THE NOBEL PRIZE© IN LITERATURE 2013 A New York Times Notable Book A Washington Post Notable Work of Fiction A Best Book of the Year: The Atlantic, NPR, San Francisco Chronicle, Vogue, AV Club In story after story in this brilliant new collection, Alice Munro pinpoints the moment a person is forever altered by a chance encounter, an action not taken, or a simple twist of fate. Her characters are flawed and fully human: a soldier returning from war and avoiding his fiancée, a wealthy woman deciding whether to confront a blackmailer, an adulterous mother and her neglected children, a guilt-ridden father, a young teacher jilted by her employer. Illumined by Munro’s unflinching insight, these lives draw us in with their quiet depth and surprise us with unexpected turns. And while most are set in her signature territory around Lake Huron, some strike even closer to home: an astonishing suite of four autobiographical tales offers an unprecedented glimpse into Munro’s own childhood. Exalted by her clarity of vision and her unparalleled gift for storytelling, Dear Life shows how strange, perilous, and extraordinary ordinary life can be.
