Intelligent Software Defect Prediction written by Xiao-Yuan Jing and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-17 with Computers categories.
With the increasing complexity of and dependency on software, software products may suffer from low quality, high prices, be hard to maintain, etc. Software defects usually produce incorrect or unexpected results and behaviors. Accordingly, software defect prediction (SDP) is one of the most active research fields in software engineering and plays an important role in software quality assurance. Based on the results of SDP analyses, developers can subsequently conduct defect localization and repair on the basis of reasonable resource allocation, which helps to reduce their maintenance costs. This book offers a comprehensive picture of the current state of SDP research. More specifically, it introduces a range of machine-learning-based SDP approaches proposed for different scenarios (i.e., WPDP, CPDP, and HDP). In addition, the book shares in-depth insights into current SDP approaches’ performance and lessons learned for future SDP research efforts. We believe thesetheoretical analyses and emerging challenges will be of considerable interest to all researchers, graduate students, and practitioners who want to gain deeper insights into and/or find new research directions in SDP. It offers a comprehensive introduction to the current state of SDP and detailed descriptions of representative SDP approaches.

How to better manage systemic risks—from cyber attacks and pandemics to financial crises and climate change—in a globalized world The Butterfly Defect addresses the widening gap between the new systemic risks generated by globalization and their effective management. It shows how the dynamics of turbo-charged globalization has the potential and power to destabilize our societies. Drawing on the latest insights from a wide variety of disciplines, Ian Goldin and Mike Mariathasan provide practical guidance for how governments, businesses, and individuals can better manage globalization and risk. Goldin and Mariathasan demonstrate that systemic risk issues are now endemic everywhere—in supply chains, pandemics, infrastructure, ecology and climate change, economics, and politics. Unless we address these concerns, they will lead to greater protectionism, xenophobia, nationalism, and, inevitably, deglobalization, rising inequality, conflict, and slower growth. The Butterfly Defect shows that mitigating uncertainty and risk in an interconnected world is an essential task for our future.

Expressly created to assist with decision making for surgical treatment of congenital heart defects, this new reference covers all relevant aspects. The congenital heart defects are presented with each chapter devoted to a single malformation, with incidence, morphology, associated anomalies, pathophysiology, diagnosis (including clinical pattern, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray, echocardiogram, cardiac catheterization with angiography), indications for surgical treatment, details of surgical treatment, potential complications and literature references. Morphology, pathophysiology and surgical treatment of the defects are explained with schematic drawings, while images taken from morphologic specimens, echocardiographic and angiographic investigations as well as from intra-operative photographs illustrate better than any words the key points of the decision-making process for the surgical treatment of congenital heart defects.

In introductory solid-state physics texts we are introduced to the concept of a perfect crystalline solid with every atom in its proper place. This is a convenient first step in developing the concept of electronic band struc ture, and from it deducing the general electronic and optical properties of crystalline solids. However, for the student who does not proceed further, such an idealization can be grossly misleading. A perfect crystal does not exist. There are always defects. It was recognized very early in the study of solids that these defects often have a profound effect on the real physical properties of a solid. As a result, a major part of scientific research in solid-state physics has,' from the early studies of "color centers" in alkali halides to the present vigorous investigations of deep levels in semiconductors, been devoted to the study of defects. We now know that in actual fact, most of the interest ing and important properties of solids-electrical, optical, mechanical- are determined not so much by the properties of the perfect crystal as by its im perfections.

As with the first edition, the second edition of this book covers the surgical anatomy of the abdominal wall, pathology of abdominal wall defects, such as hernias, enterocutaneous or entero-atmospheric fistulae, and indications for and surgical techniques used to reconstruct the abdominal wall from the practical stand point. In addition, through a number of illustrations, the placement of mesh in the abdominal wall reconstruction as well as manipulations of patient’s tissue including lateral compartment release techniques and other tissue transfer techniques are described in detail. The text also covers reconstruction of complex contaminated abdominal wall defects in patients with complex enteric fistulae, stomas, defects created after the excision of previously placed infected prosthetic mesh, and defects associated with acute tissue loss after severe trauma or necrosis of abdominal wall such as necrotizing soft tissue infections. Complex abdominal wall defects in the pediatric population and long-term outcomes and durability of these repairs are also addressed. The second edition of Surgery of Complex Abdominal Wall Defects is written by experts in their respective areas from around the world and has been updated thoroughly. As with the first edition, it will continue to serve as a guide for current practice for surgeons, including general, trauma, acute care, plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
