Theology and Christology are intense biblical discussions, as well as the doctrine of holiness, which I have been involved in as an apologist, "Defense of the Scriptures and the kingdom of God" (Jude 1:3), for over a decade on social media, among other intense topics with Muslims, Israelis, atheists, Gnostics, false cults, and a myriad of various denominations that call themselves Christians, because not everyone agrees on what the Bible teaches about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Most of what will be shared in the first section of this book will be in defense of who Jesus is in His fullness—His Christology—which includes the biblical fact that Jesus is both deity through heredity in spirit and soul like His Father Almighty God is deity and as eternal as His Father Almighty God.The second section of this book will provide the information that proves obedience to God's moral ethical laws is required to receive eternal life after receiving Jesus' atonement (grace) through faith for sin to be cleansed and forgiven. Obedience is not an option to be ignored but a required effort to be made and improved upon, and God has given His Holy Spirit to teach us how to perfectly obey Him and the help to succeed. Nowhere does the Bible teach that obedience to God's moral ethical laws atone for sin, nowhere; but the Bible does teach obedience—making the conscious effort to go onto perfection with our physical body (flesh)—is required to receive eternal life. God uses obedience to render our physical body righteous. This book will share in greater detail about the topic of faith, grace (atonement), and obedience; all three are required to receive eternal life, not atonement (grace through faith) only.

This book, the first serious analysis of the doctrine of the Trinity for many years, presents a defense against the conservative treatment of the Trinity as an impenetrable mystery, and against the radical position that the doctrine is incoherent and therefore unacceptable. Brown favors the founding of a new discipline of philosophical theology (or the widening of the horizons of the philosophy of religion) to apply more widely the type of penetration of theology by philosophy that he exemplifies in his treatment of the Trinity. He argues for belief in an interventionist God (theism rather than deism), and contends that biblical criticism and historical research do not imply the abandonment of Christian belief, since the historical original should not be equated with theological truth. Although historical difficulties must prevent any literal acceptance of the Gospel accounts in toto, the true Christ can be disentangled from the historical Jesus by philosophical method. Wide-ranging in scope, rigorous and candid in argument, Brown's work will prove of interest to educated Christian laypersons and others beyond the boundaries of professional theology and philosophy of religion. Perhaps most provocative is Brown's assertion that the Resurrection must be accepted as a literally true visionary experience, and that anyone who accepts it must be prepared to take seriously other visionary experiences, for example, visions of the Virgin Mary, even if he rejects them in the end. It is certainly an astonishing truth that God should be so interested in a being of such vastly inferior powers as man, says the author. But that clearly must be the implication of the doctrine of the Trinity . . . To have reached this conclusion by means of philosophical argument is to have taken a major step toward the complete penetration of theology by philosophy that Brown calls for.

Teaching on the sanctification of Christians using the difficult word perfection has been part of Christian spirituality through the centuries. The Fathers spoke of it and Augustine particularly contributed his penetrating analysis of human motivation in terms of love. Medieval theologians such as Bernard and Thomas Aquinas developed the tradition and wrote of levels or "degrees" of "perfection" in love. However, the doctrine has not fared so well among Protestants. John Wesley was the one major Protestant leader who tried to blend this ancient tradition of Christian "perfection" with the Reformation proclamation of justification by grace through faith. This book seeks to develop Wesley's synthesis of patristic and Reformation theology in order to consider how Christian "perfection" can be expressed in a more nuanced way in today's culture. Noble examines what basis may be found for Wesley's understanding of sanctification in the central doctrines of the church, particularly the atonement, the doctrine of Christ, and the most comprehensive of all Christian doctrines, the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. What he sets out is a fully trinitarian theology of holiness.

Why do groups such as Christadelphians, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Unitarians have such difficulty with the doctrine of the Trinity? Do they really understand the doctrine they oppose? From the mainstream Christian perspective, perhaps a lack of understanding about the way these other groups view the Scriptures may have hampered a clear presentation of the orthodox doctrine. The Trinity Hurdle is a scriptural and historical defense of the doctrine of the Triune God and substitutionary atonement for Christadelphians, other non-Trinitarians, and those engaging with them, from an author who is familiar with both sides of the doctrinal divide.

Christians have always believed in the triune God, but they haven't always understood or used the doctrine of the Trinity consistently. In order to form a coherent view of trinitarian theology, it's important for Christians to have a working knowledge of the two legitimate models for explaining this doctrine: Classical – presenting a traditional view of the Trinity, represented by the Baptist theologian Stephen R. Holmes and the Roman Catholic theologian Paul D. Molnar. Relational – presenting the promise and potential hazards of a relational doctrine, represented by the evangelical theologian Thomas H. McCall and the Baptist philosopher Paul S. Fiddes. In this volume of the Counterpoints series, leading contributors establish their models and approaches to the doctrine of the Trinity (or, the relationship between the threeness and oneness of the divine life). Each expert highlights the strengths of his view in order to argue how it best reflects the orthodox perspective. In order to facilitate a genuine debate and to make sure that the key issues are revealed, each contributor addresses the same questions regarding their trinitarian methodology, doctrine, and its implications.

Moving beyond the modern reticence to provide robust biblical justification for the doctrine of the Trinity, Our God is Triune is a thoroughgoing defense of the very foundation of the Christian faith. The authors have provided a multidisciplinary consideration of the doctrine of the Trinity, the deity of Christ, and the doctrine of the incarnation in light of heresies both ancient and modern. While academic in approach, Our God is Triune provides an accessible array of subject material dealing with the nature and identity of God.

This important work is a detailed biblical investigation of the relationship of Jesus to the one God of Israel. The authors challenge the notion that biblical monotheism is legitimately represented by a Trinitarian view of God and demonstrate that within the bounds of the canon of Scripture Jesus is confessed as Messiah, Son of God, but not God Himself. Later Christological developments beginning in the second century misrepresented the biblical doctrine of God and Christ by altering the terms of the biblical presentation of the Father and Son. This fateful development laid the foundation of a revised, unscriptural creed that needs to be challenged. This book is likely to be a definitive presentation of a Christology rooted, as it originally was, in the Hebrew Bible. The authors present a sharply-argued appeal for an understanding of God and Jesus in the context of the original Christian documents.
