Der Autor hat eine "Deutschlandtour" geplant, doch er erkrankt unterwegs so, dass er im Krankenhaus behandelt werden muss. Er notiert seine Erlebnisse und schildert sie in diesem Buch. Das macht er zwar detailliert, dabei aber auch so locker, dass das Buch eine amüsante Lektüre für Krankenhauspatienten sein kann. An manchen Stellen wird man denken: "Ja, so ähnlich ist es mir auch mal ergangen." Zunächst erfährt man Interessantes über die Städte Erfurt, Weimar, Potsdam und Berlin. In Stralsund endet die Städtetour krankheitsbedingt. Dann erhält man Informationen über Herzerkrankungen. Haben Sie schon mal "Transösophageale Echokardiographie" gehört? Sind für Sie Blutkulturen angelegt worden? Haben Sie gewusst, dass Herzrhythmusstörungen mit einem Elektroschock behoben werden können? Und natürlich lernt man im Krankenhaus auch einige Lebensgeschichten anderer Patienten kennen.
