This is a book of poems that describes, in many instances, different situations or feelings about what someone may be going through at a moment in time. Each poem has a different mood or tone that it can gravitate to. Some examples are sexual, sad, mad/angry, happy, in love/romantic, and motivational/in?uential. I want people to be able to (depending on their mood that day) think about my words and pick up this book to ?nd a poem that relates to that vibe and read it. For example, you may be dealing with drama at work. I have a poem called "Days Like This?" that may relate to the mood or feeling you are having about not getting the answers you need. You may go into a daze of re?ection and wonder why and ask yourself, Why I am I not getting the response that I want? Another example is the poem called "Lie So Much." You may be dealing with haters or liars talking bad about you, and for them to cover their own asses, they lie on you and make it seem like you are the crazy one.My poetry is different because it explains a lot about the ups and downs any given person can go through daily. People may be thinking these things, but they can never verbally express themselves like this. And that is the main reason why I am naming this book Deprived Expression Vibes because there is a vibe for every mood someone may be in. This book is my testament of the last thirty years of my life and especially of everything that occurred in 2020. I allowed myself to be vulnerable and free my mind of all the pent-up feelings I've had over the years. I literally put my foot down, and I couldn't take the bullshit anymore. It is my way of healing the soul.

In 1944 Emily Dean is dispatched from Melbourne to stay with her father’s relatives in rural Victoria. At the family property of Mount Prospect, Grandmother is determined to keep up standards despite the war, while Emily’s young aunt – the beautiful, fearless Lydia – refuses to befriend her. Feeling lonely and isolated, Emily can’t wait to go home. But things start to improve when she encounters Claudio, the Italian prisoner of war employed as a farm labourer. And become more interesting still when her uncle William returns home wounded. He’s rude, traumatised and mostly drunk, yet a passion for literature soon draws them together. A delightfully wry novel about desire, deceit and self-discovery. ‘A rich evocation of an era and a beautiful insight into the process of emerging from childhood into womanhood. Such a great read!’ —Margaret Pomeranz ‘A resonant and engaging story – illuminating and subtly compelling.’ —Rosalie Ham ‘This uplifting story of transformation should resonate with readers who like coming-of-age stories.’ —Books+Publishing ‘Funny and poignant and wise, it’s a tale of self-discovery and emotional intricacy, full of brilliantly written, complex women.’ —The Sydney Morning Herald

Where exactly does the South begin and end? Current maps are too rigid to account for the ways Black people have built the South while being simultaneously excluded from it. Drawing from the different ways Black artists in the 2-5-2 area code in North Carolina use "vibe" as a mode of knowing and communication, author Corey J. Miles illustrates how Black feeling and unfeeling offer entry points into the contemporary South that challenge static and monolithic notions of the region. Placing the local artists in conversation with other southern cultural creators such as 2 Chainz, Rod Wave, and Rapsody, these ethnographic narratives demonstrate that there are multiple Souths, with overlapping and distinct commitments to working through pain, sound, and belonging. In Vibe: The Sound and Feeling of Black Life in the American South, Miles narrates how southern Black sound, feeling, and being is constantly policed, surveilled, and criminalized. In doing so, he re-narrates the region as the "carceral South," to capture the ways people in the South and beyond can feel the emotional weight of the criminalization of Blackness. Pain music, a subgenre of trap music, is used to take the listener to moments of violence to allow them to hear the desires, anger, and silences that bind Black life in community. Through conceptions of ratchet, hood, and ghetto, Black artists turn away from respectable images and unmap the South. In trap music, they move the South to a space where multiple modes of being find respect and care.

Opening And Closing written by Klapp and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1978-09-29 with Social Science categories.

In this original application of information theory to social analysis, Orrin Klapp examines how and why societies are producing more stress than they ever can handle. He argues that the reduction of 'social noise', the chaos from which we try to construct meaning is a major goal of individuals and groups alike. Individuals, groups, even entire societies normally cycle rhythmically between two basic modes of adaptation to the constant communication flow: opening, or scanning for desired information; and closing, or defending against noise. For example, in a society functioning in the opening mode, movements like ecumenicism and expansionism achieve momentum. Extreme reactions in either mode lead to an opposite swing, according to Professor Klapp's model. His wide-ranging conceptual scheme incorporates hypotheses about the variety and redundancy of information, as well as about human channel capacities and the need for homeostatis. His research reveals intriguing relationships among such phenomena as the concern about industrial population and the search for ethnic roots.
