A.] schlagen/ Selbst erschuf er sich den Wert." Zweifellos verweist er damit auf den - im Unterschied zu anderen europäischen Ländern - in Deutschland relativ autonomen Charakter der Literatur, im Guten wie im Schlechten. Wenn er jedoch fortfährt: "Darum strömt in vollern Wogen/ Deutscher Barden Hochgesang;/ Und in eigner Fülle schwellend/ Und aus Herzens Tiefe quellend, / Spottet er der Regeln Zwang.", die allumfassende Freiheit deutscher Autoren preisend, übersieht er die nahe liegendste Gebundenheit - die seiner Sprache. Scheinbar unwissend gibt er sich als Erbe des deutschen Pietismus zu erkennen, denn "schwellend", "quellend" und "strömt" entstammen der im Pietismus geförderten Wassermetaphorik und auch die Wörter "Fülle" und "Herzens Tiefe" gehören zu ihren Lieblingswörtern. Zweifelsfrei wohnt jeder deutschen literarischen Strömung ein Neuanfang inne, vielleicht auch radikaler, als in anderen Ländern. Das gilt auch sprachlich, so dass Heinz Schlaffer - diesem Gedanken folgend - notiert, dass deutsche Dichter "immer aufs neue eine neue Sprache erfinden" müssen. Dennoch lässt sich gerade an der religiösen Sprache - und hier vor allem am Pietismus - eine Entwicklung deutlich machen, die vor allen anderen Bereichen einen großen Einfluss auf die deutsche Literatursprache hatte. Viele Einzelstränge dieser Entwicklung laufen im Pietismus zusammen, der - ohne selbst übermäßig sprachlich kreativ gewesen zu sein - einen sprachhistorischen Knotenpunkt darstellt. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Sonstiges, Note: 1,0, Technische Universität Dresden (Institut: Institut für Germanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Kontext einer sprachgeschichtlichen Analyse des 18. Jahrhunderts möchte ich in meiner Hausarbeit das Thema „Die sprachgeschichtliche Leistung des deutschen Pietismus“ erörtern. Dieses Thema spielt für die Betrachtung der deutschen Sprache im 18. Jahrhundert insofern eine wichtige Rolle, da es innerhalb des 18. Jahrhundert zu vielen Veränderungen und nebeneinander auftretenden Strömungen kam, in die auch der Pietismus als konfessionelle Reformbewegung einzuordnen ist. Im Rahmen meiner Hausarbeit möchte ich folgende These thematisieren: Der deutsche Pietismus wurde und wird mit den Stichworten belegt wie kontrakulturell, irrational, Subjektivismus und Empfindsamkeit. Die sprachgeschichtliche Leistung des deutschen Pietismus besteht weniger in der Hervorbringung eines Seelen- und Gefühlswortschatzes als vielmehr in der Säkularisierung religiösen Wortschatzes für den allgemeinen Gefühlswortschatz. Die dem Pietismus entgegengebrachte Kritik der Kontrakulturalität und des Subjektivismus möchte ich demnach in meiner Arbeit ebenso in den Blick nehmen wie den Wortschatz des deutschen Pietismus, den August Langen in seinem gleichnamigen Werk gesammelt und dargelegt hat. Bevor ich im Hauptteil meiner Hausarbeit diese These bearbeiten werde, möchte ich jedoch zunächst einen kurzen literarhistorischen Einstieg vornehmen, um ein grundlegendes Verständnis zu den Rezipienten und Produzenten des 18. Jahrhunderts zu schaffen. Im Anschluss daran soll außerdem eine allgemeine überblicksartige Einführung zum Pietismus gegeben werden, nach der ich die These bearbeiten möchte. Abschließend werde ich dann einen kurzen Exkurs zur Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine und deren Gründungsvater Nikolaus Graf von Zinzendorf machen, wobei es sich hier um ein exemplarisches Beispiel für einen bedeutenden Pietisten und dessen Wirkungsstätte handeln soll. Während ich mich bei der Thematik des deutschen Pietismus im 18. Jahrhundert zentral mit dem Verhältnis zur Kultur und dem Wortschatz befassen möchte, könnte man auch die Rolle der Frau im Umfeld des Pietismus in den Mittelpunkt der Betrachtungen rücken, was ich jedoch nur am Rande thematisieren werde. Auch die Sprach- und Dichtungstheorie Zinzendorfs wäre ein weiterer zu untersuchender Aspekt, den ich in meiner Arbeit allerdings komplett vernachlässigen werde, da ich lediglich einen kurzen Exkurs zum Leben und Wirken Zinzendorfs machen möchte.

Petrarch’s revival of the ancient practice of laureation in 1341 led to the laurel being conferred on poets throughout Europe in the later Middle Ages and the Early Modern period. Within the Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian I conferred the title of Imperial Poet Laureate especially frequently, and later it was bestowed with unbridled liberality by Counts Palatine and university rectors too. This handbook identifies more than 1300 poets laureated within the Empire and adjacent territories between 1355 and 1804, giving (wherever possible) a sketch of their lives, a list of their published works, and a note of relevant scholarly literature. The introduction and various indexes provide a detailed account of a now largely forgotten but once significant literary-sociological phenomenon and illuminate literary networks in the Early Modern period. A supplementary Volume 5 of Poets Laureate in the Holy Roman Empire. A Bio-bibliographical Handbook will be published in June 2019.
