The pentecostal openness to the presence of the Holy Spirit can be understood in terms of the analogy with the Trinitarian personhood as a mode of the individual participation in the life of the Triune God. This links the pentecostal understanding of the Holy Spirit with the koinonia-ecclesiology of the ecumenical multilateral dialogue. The current understanding of the ecumenical koinonia-ecclesiology is modelled by the life of the Trinity and formed by the sacramental participation of the church in the life of the Triune God. In this way, Pentecostalism can find its access to the eucharistic-sacramental understanding of unity of the church. Conversely, this is also enriching for the multilateral ecumenical koinonia-discourse. The participation in the koinonia with the Triune God includes not only the dimension of the eucharistic fellowship, but also the dimension of the direct personal orientation of Christians toward the presence of the Holy Spirit.

A Christian Theology in Modern Times: Contextual Fundamental Theology The handbook of fundamental theology is the result of 20 years of teaching and research and appeared already in seven different languages; a Chinese edition is on the way. .Hans Waldenfels taught from 1977 - 1997 on the chair in Bonn where the former Pope Benedict XVI. - Joseph Ratzinger began his scholarly career. He came to Bonn with the experience of almost ten years life in Japan where he encountered a totally different language and culture. There and in other parts of Asia inculturation became a life experience for him. Following the three classical topics of fundamental theology - God, Jesus Christ, the Church - Waldenfels asks how they fit into the different contexts of ethnic, cultural, religious and ideological contexts of life and finally reflects the process of Christian theology. The handbook shows that modern Christian theology needs a profound knowledge and analysis of the pluriformity of human and social life and at the same time an equally deep involvement in the mystery of the divine as it appears in the life and death of Jesus Christ. It calls for a strong connection of historical awareness and an insatiable desire of the infinite Beyond.

Cognitive Science And The New Testament written by István Czachesz and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Bibles categories.

Over the last few decades, our knowledge of how the human mind and brain works increased dramatically. The field of cognitive science enables us to understand religious traditions, rituals, and visionary experiences in novel ways. This has implications for the study of the New Testament and early Christianity. How people in the ancient Mediterranean world remembered sayings and stories, what they experienced when participating in rituals, how they thought about magic and miracle, and how they felt and reasoned about moral questions--all of that can be now better understood with the help of insights from cognitive science. Istvan Czachesz argues that the field of New Testament Studies witnesses the beginning of a cognitive turn. He surveys relevant developments in the Cognitive Science of Religion and explores the field of cognitive and behavioral sciences in search of opportunities of gaining new insights about biblical materials. Czachesz presents some methodological tools and initial steps, together with a large number of examples of applying the cognitive approach to the New Testament and related ancient literature.

"In a world born of the "big bang," Edwards shows that humanity and the world are together being made into the image of God. The heart of faith is an ecological communion that holds together and grows in love toward the fullness of life imaged in the Resurrection of Jesus. Denis Edwards helps the general reader, the preacher, the spiritual director, the student, and the theologian tear down the walls that too often separate mysticism, theology, prophecy, poetry, and science." -- Book jacket.

Fire From Heaven written by Harvey Cox and has been published by Da Capo Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-03-25 with Religion categories.

It was born a scant ninety-five years ago in a rundown warehouse on Azusa Street in Los Angeles. For days the religious-revival service there went on and on-and within a week the Los Angeles Times was reporting on a "weird babble" coming from the building. Believers were "speaking in tongues," the way they did at the first Pentecost recorded in the Bible?and a pentecostal movement was created that would, by the start of the twenty-first century, attract over 400 million followers worldwide. Harvey Cox has traveled the globe to visit and worship with pentecostal congregations on four continents, and he has written a dynamic, provocative history of this explosion of spirituality?a movement that represents no less than a tidal change in what religion is and what it means to people.
