Excerpt from Der Kehlkopf des Menschen Ungeachtet sowohl die Bedingungen, von denen die Tonbildung im Kehlk0pfe abhängig ist, als auch der in ihrem Dienste stehende Mechanismus annähernd bekannt sind, nahmen wir doch aus verschiedenen Gründen keinen Anstand den menschlichen Kehlkopf von Neuem einer durchgreifenden ana tomischen Untersuchung zu unterwerfen: Ina Angesichte nicht weniger aus gezeichneter° Arbeiten welche der Morphologie des Larynx entweder speziell gewidmet, oder gelegentlich in Iaryngosk0pisehen Werken niedergelegt Sind, könnte es zwar befremden, h1er emer wiederholten umfassenden Arbeit zu begegnen. Allein abgesehen davon, dass der noch lange nicht tief und weit genug in die. Ärztlichen Kreise eingedrungenen Laryngoskopie jeder nur mög liche Vorschub geleistet werden muss was ohne Frage durch alle darauf bezüglichen literarischen Leistungen in ihrer Art geschehen kann, glauben wir nicht blos Anregungen zu einem eingehenden Studium des Larynxi geben, sondern auch eine wirkliche Förderung der Anatomie dieses Organes ge währen zu können. Dies wird schon dadurch möglich sein, dass die in einer grösseren Anzahl theilweise schwer zugänglicher J ournalaufsätze enthaltenen Resultate eigener Forschung hier im Zusammenhange zur Einsicht gebracht werden. Aber auch mancherlei Spätere von anderer Seite ganz unbeachtet gebliebene Gegenstände, oder solche, welche entweder zur. Stunde noch con trovers, oder als vollstandi'ge Irrthümer erkannt werden sind, sollen in dem vorliegenden Werke eine umfassende Berücksichtigung finden.
