Sie schämt sich, will eine Selbstanzeige machen, doch das redet ihr Teresa aus. Sie empfiehlt Simone, sich im Tierheim nützlich zu machen oder auf anderem Wege Gutes zu tun. Auch Enkelin Pamela weint sich bei Teresa aus. Sie fühlt sich irgendwie verloren, weil sie nicht weiß, was später mal aus ihr werden soll. Teresa gelingt es, ihre Enkelin aufzubauen. Meta hat einen Mann kennengelernt, Bruno Eckhardt, doch um nicht wieder einen Reinfall zu erleben wie seinerzeit mit dem dubiosen Franz Glattberg bittet sie Alma, den Mann zu überprüfen. Ein spannendes Detektivspiel beginnt – mit spektakulärem Ausgang ... Es war unglaublich! Manchmal hatte man so etwas wie eine Eingebung, verspürte eine Gewissheit. Dabei hatte Teresa nur flüchtig in die Gesichter der vorübergehenden Passantinnen und Passanten geschaut, während sie den Marktplatz überquerte. Und dann war ihr Blick an dem Gesicht einer schlanken, eher unscheinbar wirkenden jungen Frau hängen geblieben. Und da waren alle Alarmglocken bei ihr angegangen, und sie erinnerte sich sofort, wo sie diese Frau schon mal gesehen hatte. Sie hatte sich im Internat als Bürokraft beworben, doch sie war abgewiesen worden, weil es Bewerberinnen gab, die qualifizierter gewesen waren. So war es nun mal, und als Arbeitgeber hatte man die freie Auswahl und die freie Entscheidung, im Internat war es ein Team, doch niemand hatte diese Frau haben wollen. Doch das war jetzt nicht entscheidend. Darüber musste sie sich wirklich nicht den Kopf zerbrechen. Teresa spürte, wie ihr Blutdruck in die Höhe schellte, sie begann, schneller zu atmen. Dann atmete sie ganz tief durch. Teresa war sich so sicher, dass sie nach einem kurzen Augenblick des Zögerns auf die Frau zusteuerte. Sie ansprach, und dabei beobachtete Teresa die Frau ganz genau. Die wurde verlegen, wechselte die Gesichtsfarbe, wollte davoneilen, doch Teresa hielt sie entschlossen zurück. Das Verhalten der Frau war so eindeutig, dass bei Teresa auch die allerletzten Zweifel schwanden. Und aus diesem Grunde kam sie auch direkt zur Sache. "Was haben Sie sich eigentlich dabei gedacht, mir diesen unverschämten, auch noch anonymen Drohbrief zu schicken?", erkundigte sie sich barsch. Die Frau zuckte zusammen. Ihre Verlegenheit steigerte sich, sie versuchte, sich herauszureden.

Sie konnte es ignorieren, und alles würde so weiterlaufen wie bisher, oder aber sie klärte es, und, da war sie sich sehr sicher, würde sich alles verändern. Ihr innerer Kampf dauerte nur ein paar Sekunden, dann gab sie sich einen Ruck, lief auf die schlanke junge Frau zu, die ihr bereits einige Male in der Nähe des Doktorhauses aufgefallen war.
