Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Soziale Arbeit / Sozialarbeit, Note: 1,0, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg (Fachbereich Sozialpädagogik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Offene Kanäle, die zur "dritten Säule" des Rundfunks neben dem öffentlich-rechtlichen und dem privat-kommerziellen Bereich gehören, waren und sind in der öffentlichen Diskussion heftig umstritten. Die einen sehen in ihm lediglich ein Alibi, mit dem die hinter der Privatisierung des Rundfunks stehenden wirtschaftlichen Interessen verschleiert werden sollen, andere hingegen sehen die Möglichkeit des Rollenwechsels vom bisher passiven Zuschauer zum aktiven Rezipienten. Eine solche Möglichkeit entspräche den Methoden und Zielsetzungen einer emanzipatorischen Medienarbeit, die den aktiven und selbstbestimmten Umgang mit Medien und die Möglichkeit zu authentischer Erfahrung mit Hilfe dieser anstrebt. Doch was bedeutet die Existenz Offener Kanäle für die medienpädagogische Soziale Arbeit? (mit diesem Begriff bezeichne ich Medienpädagogik unter den Zielsetzungen der Sozialen Arbeit, in Abgrenzung von anderen Formen der Medienpädagogik außerhalb der Sozialen Arbeit) Und, wieweit wird der Offene Kanal in seiner heutigen Form seiner ursprünglichen Aufgabe, jedem Bürger die Möglichkeit zur medialen Partizipation zu geben, gerecht? Nach einer Einführung in des Thema und die Arbeitsweise eines Offenen Kanals wird in Kapitel 4 der Bezug der Medienpädagogik zur Sozialen Arbeit zu erläutert. Hieraus folgend wird die Frage nach einer speziellen Ausbildung zum Medienpädagogen diskutiert. Kapitel 5 beinhaltet eine detaillierte Diskussion der für die Arbeit mit dem Offenen Kanal relevanten medienpädagogischen Positionen -aktive und die alternative Medienarbeit - und eine Einschätzung ob diese Arbeit tatsächlich im Offenen Kanal geleistet wird.
