Digitalization New Media And Education For Sustainable Development written by Keller, Lars and has been published by IGI Global this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-04-17 with Education categories.

To address the grand challenges of the 21st century, societies must undergo substantial transformations. Whether the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set in place by the United Nations as targets to be reached by 2030, can be reached will depend in part on how successfully education strategies empower learners of all ages with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to transform themselves, their communities, and their societies. Educational institutions have critical roles to play in facilitating and supporting these transitions. To fulfill this vision and be transformational, however, education and educational institutions themselves will have to be transformed. Digitalization, New Media, and Education for Sustainable Development explores how digitalization and new media are already shaping and will shape the transformation of international educational systems. It examines all aspects related to and interconnections between digitalization, new media, and education for sustainable development. Covering topics such as biased design, energy smart schools, and project-based learning, this premier reference source is an indispensable resource for educators and administrators of both K-12 and higher education, preservice teachers, teacher educators, government officials, policymakers, community leaders, researchers, and academicians.

Aspekte Des Menschseins Im Alten Mesopotamien written by Ulrike Steinert and has been published by BRILL this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-02-17 with Social Science categories.

Being the first monographic study of this kind in the field of Assyriology, this book comprises an investigation of Ancient Mesopotamian concepts of the human person. Concentrating on Akkadian cuneiform texts from the 2nd and 1st millennium BC, the author examines the characteristics and attributes attached to human beings and the notions of the person as a composite being through a semantic analysis of Akkadian terms for the body, body parts and aspects of the self, which can be termed "souls". Through an examination of a wide range of textual sources and an interdisciplinary approach, this study shows that the Mesopotamian views of personhood share amazing similarities with those of the neighbouring ancient cultures, but often differ from our own. “...in short, as a piece of modern Assyriological scholarship it is very well done and a tribute to its author’s capabilities and accomplishments.” Benjamin R. Foster, Yale University

Feminist Philosophy Of Technology written by Janina Loh and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-31 with Philosophy categories.

There has been little attention to feminism and gender issues in mainstream philosophy of technology and vice versa. Since the beginning of the so-called »second wave feminism« (in the middle of the 20th century), there has been a growing awareness of the urgency of a critical reflection of technology and science within feminist discourse. But feminist thinkers have not consistently interpreted technology and science as emancipative and liberating for the feminist movement. Because technological development is mostly embedded in social, political, and economic systems that are patriarchally hierarchized, many feminists criticized the structures of dominance, marginalization and oppression inherent in numerous technologies. Therefore, the question of defining and ascribing responsibility in technics and science is essential for this anthology – regarding for instance the technological transformation of labor, the life in the information society, and the relationship between humans and machines.
