Entre 2008 y 2015 se dio un drástico giro en el patrón migratorio en México que implicó el aumento del retorno al país, lo que involucró a personas que viajaban solas, a familias divididas o completas que llegaban a México después de una larga ausencia y a menores que venían por primera vez, entre otros casos. La llegada de este contingente proveniente de Estados Unidos puso en evidencia la ausencia, en los ámbitos federal y estatal, de mecanismos disponibles para atender sus necesidades específicas. Ante este escenario, en 2018, El Colegio de México y la Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos realizaron el proyecto «Migración de retorno y derechos sociales: barreras a la integración” el cual estudió, con un enfoque de derechos sociales, a las personas retornadas y su proceso de (re)integración a México. Con base en información censal y en la Encuesta lntercensal del Inegi, este libro muestra un recorrido por las características de la migración de retorno desde 1990 hasta 2015
