This collection explores the relationships between acts of translation and the movement of peoples across linguistic, cultural, and physical borders, centering the voices of migrant writers and translators in literatures and language cultures of the Global South. La propuesta de esta investigacion -que ademas es la tesis de licenciatura del autor- se centra en identificar y analizar una practica que acompana e integra todo proceso genocida. Esta consiste en la deshumanizacion de ciertos grupos humanos, lo que resulta imprescindible para la consiguiente eliminacion fisica de los cuerpos y la disolucion de las marcas etnicas. Especificamente se busca indagar la forma en la que se escribio en la prensa y en la literatura sobre la musica -en general y sobre la indigena en particular- a finales del siglo XIX, esperando entender como se les quito discursivamente la agencia artistica -concretamente musical- a los pueblos originarios norpatagonicos que ya habian sufrido, sufrian o sufririan las politicas genocidas llevadas a cabo por el estado-nacion argentino. Para esto resulta imperioso discutir conceptos como hegemonia, colonialismo y poscolonialismo y conocer los procesos de incorporacion de los pueblos originarios luego de la campana militar denominada sugerentemente como Conquista del Desierto. La segunda parte del libro puede ser leida tambien como una antologia de citas literarias sobre la musica en la segunda mitad del s. XIX en Argentina."
