Den theoretischen Rahmen bilden u. a. das erzähltheoretische Analyseverfahren von Martinez und Scheffel sowie Konzepte und Begriffe aus der postkolonialen Theorie Halls. Gedanken zur erinnerungspädagogischen Bedeutung der Gegenüberstellung der Werke und Anregungen zur Entwicklung eines pädagogischen Konzeptes schließen sich an, um die Analyse für die Erinnerungsarbeit in einer Einwanderungsgesellschaft mit kolonialer Vergangenheit fruchtbar zu machen.
