Devastation in the Garden of Eden is a book in which the author aims to paint a picture of what actually has been happening on Kilimanjaro Mountain area. He almost emotionally endeavors to enlighten mankind and especially people who know Mount Kilimanjaro and the area around it about how attractive the mountain and the area around has been since the time immemorial. It was such a masterpiece of God, giving the example of the Biblical Garden of Eden in which God put the first man and woman, but in spite of the perfection, beauty, and bounty of resources that were put in that garden, still mankind decided to trespass. They decided to disobey God’s rules, and in the end, they got banished from the garden. The author has deliberately made this comparison with the Garden of Eden for the similarities are so closely related. In reality, that is exactly what the mountain area was like. Many people from different parts of the world have stood up and bear witness that Kilimanjaro Mountain is not only a geographical place somewhere in the continent of Africa but is a unique place and serves as a magnet to attract the humankind from various parts of the world and of various walks of life to it. Unfortunately, we will soon or later see mankind getting banished from Kilimanjaro and the area around it. Like what happened in the Garden of Eden, Kilimanjaro has faced a lot of mismanagement, and that has been in spite of the laws, regulations, and rules that, at one historical time or the other, have been put in place. Natural resources have disappeared in various ways and forms. People, ecology, and the overall ecosystem are being put to great danger. The author shows concern and calls upon the local as well as international community to come forth to address the situation. He does not attempt to point an accusing figure to any specific person or community, as almost all of us have been involved in one form or the other. He thus concludes that this should not be a war for one person, one community, or one nation, but the whole global community should join hands to reverse the ongoing situation. He ends with a remark “We must hang together, or we will all perish.”

Adam, a man who became complete after God's gift of Eve, had everything anyone could want. Not only did he have it all, everything that he had was perfect, living in harmony with Eve and his surroundings, the way God created it to be. Suddenly all of this changed, one decision by Adam rendered all of this to ash. Cast out of the Garden's beauty and perfection, Adam and Eve find themselves living the rest of their lives under a curse of hardship and death. Why?

Excerpt from The Garden of Eden and the Flood Under the prestige of high scholarship and honest inquiry, a most dangerous body of unbelievers in divine inspiration have assailed the five books of Moses, denying their authorship and invalidating their genuineness as the true history of God's dealing with Israel. Men of weight, in high position, affecting to know theology as well as statecraft, Greek as well as Hebrew, have thrown themselves into this controversy, as once before they doubted the unity and authorship of the Iliad and the Odyssey. By the grinding word-by-word process of Professor Green, of Princeton, N. J., there is absolutely nothing left of these classical doubters but the chaff of a summer's threshing floor. Whatever might seemingly yet remain of them has been sifted out by the Bishop of Ely, until not a single grain of truth can be found in this heap of well-threshed straw. Hyperlinks (eBook only) to public domain versions of works cited by the author. Published on the 20th anniversary of the leak of the Discovery Institute's "Wedge Document," Wilhelm Kühner's annotated reprint of The Garden of Eden and The Flood (1901) by John Christian Keener frames the original text in its historical context and offers unique insights about the relevance of this late 19th century "theological curiosity" (American Journal of Theology, 1901) by "one of the most remarkable men in the South" (Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1906).As with the "Wedge Document" it may be easy to dismiss Keener's work as a failure on its own terms and "just another attempt to indoctrinate instead of persuade." After all, neither creationism nor "intelligent design" are recognized as legitimate in the scientific community today or taught alongside evolution in biology classes. However, as we celebrate the 160th anniversary of Charles Darwin's publication of his "Origins" the attempt to shape American public policy to reflect politically conservative and fundamentalist evangelical Protestant values is unfortunately ongoing. From Mark Twain's proposed monument to Adam (the Biblical "first man") in Elmira, New York (1879) to the Ouija Board (1891) and the Christian conquest flag (1901), Kühner's use of proposed and actual historical artifacts from the period should help readers better understand this anti-evolution screed by a former Confederate chaplain and Methodist South Bishop as well as the larger cultural phenomena of cons, quackery, pseudoscience and disinformation that in many ways underpins our current political predicament in the United States.ISBN: 978-0-9985905-2-3
