Discover the tools to create a new kind of church and move from merely surviving to thriving. Drawing on an extensive two-year field study of 200 churches from a variety of denominations and geographic regions, Milfred Minatrea--a missiologist, urban strategist and practioner in minister--presents the best practices for re-energizing Christian spirituality in a congregational setting. He provides readers with the tools for assessing their congregation’s position on the continuum between maintenance and mission and for determining the actions that will move them toward becoming a missional community. He also outlines key strategies that successful churches have used to become relevant in a postmodern society without losing what is distinctly Christian in their spiritual practices. Milfred Minatrea (Irving, TX) is Director of the Missional Church Center for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

Mission As Life written by J. Randall Wallace and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-05 with Religion categories.

This book explores how both individuals and families can create an environment where authentic Christianity can flourish. People grow best in a supportive community, and families can provide the earliest expression of the type of community God intended. Families can become a microcosm of the church as they allow Christ to live through them using their gifts to minister to a hurting world. Building on a foundation of Scripture, the goal of this book is to ignite within families a desire to make advancing the Kingdom of God a priority in how they use their time, treasure, and talents. It outlines how regular community service anchors biblical values into family life and elevates personal spiritual development to new levels by putting faith into action. By aligning their lives with God's values, by serving together, family members gain an appreciation of one another and a deep understanding of how God has uniquely gifted them. Service provides youth with a means to forge their identity while involved in meaningful activity. Parents are center stage as role models and mentors for what it means to follow God with your whole heart. Resources and ideas give guidance to help families select "faithing" opportunities and prepare for their adventure in service. Randy Wallace received his Biblical education at Trinity College and in addition has a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. For the past 18 years he has lived and worked in Appalachia doing Christian community development. Part of that involves recruiting some 300+ volunteers annually who serve the needy, elderly and disabled. He is married to a Jacqueline and has two sons who are raising their families in Southern California. Check out the website www.missionaslife.com

The world is urban at its core--over half the world's population live in cities and most of the global poverty resides there too. Urbanization affects all of us, whether we love in cities or not, and this impact will increase in the coming decades. For fifteen years Urban Expression has been motivating people to get up and move into inter-city neighborhoods to see what they can learn and what difference they can make. This book gets into the heads and hearts of our teams and unpacks the values that have inspired these missionaries to be urban to the core. Grass-roots honest reflections from some of our one hundred current and former team members and mission partners, capture the essence of what has shaped the thinking and activity of this experimental urban mission agency. If you are concerned about cities, those on the margins of society, cross-cultural mission or new forms of church, this book will inspire and challenge your core convictions about mission priorities in an urban world.

The Heart Of The Mission written by Cande de Leon and has been published by Our Sunday Visitor this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-30 with Religion categories.

As Christians, and especially as people who work for the Church, we are part of an incredible mission: to bring people to Jesus. Jesus himself gave us this mission when he said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Mt 28:19). Yet it is far too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day details of our work — so much so that we can lose sight of our true mission. In The Heart of the Mission: Simple Ways to Bring People to Jesus, Cande de Leon shows what it takes to get back on track. With wisdom and humor born of his own experience, he shows how our Christian mission always begins and ends with people. To help us live this in our daily life and work, he guides us through three transformational principles for ministry and life: Strengthening relationships Boldly growing engagement Connecting people to the mission Whether you are a pastor, part of a parish staff, or a volunteer at your home parish, these principles apply to you. Because if we really want to make transformational change in our Church and our world, we first have to recognize the people in front of us — who they are, what they need, what gifts God has given them, and how he is inviting them to participate in the mission of the Church. Not merely another program to transform your parish, this book offers a simple yet radical invitation to roll up your sleeves and make a difference by getting back to basics.>/p> ABOUT THE AUTHOR Cande de Leon has served as executive director of the Office of Mission Advancement for the Diocese of Phoenix since 2016. He leads a team committed to advancing the mission of Christ through stewardship, evangelization, and discipleship formation. He spent seven years in the Diocese of Corpus Christi serving as the director of parish stewardship and development, where he raised over $37 million (with a goal of $18 million) for the Legacy of Faith ~ Future of Hope Capital & Endowment Campaign. Cande has been married to his wife, Rosemary, for 22 years. They have four daughters.

The Mission Of The Heart written by James P. Robson and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-09-18 with Poetry categories.

The Mission of the Heart is my fifth book and includes poetry written during late 2014 through mid-2015. The thoughts conveyed in these poems are personal to me, and their reproduction in this book is primarily intended to convey concepts of truth, which can be of benefit to others. Some subjects and truths require research and study, so these short poems are intended as food for thought and for further study and investigation by the reader. Although the human mind can develop a thirst for knowledge and wisdom, the process of storing and applying such knowledge and wisdom can be best understood in small doses. Life on earth is a lengthy process of self-development and requires both study and active application in a continuous stream in order to advance both physically and spiritually. The learning process is unending, and many of the most important lessons come through trial and tribulation. As we gain in our self-development, we learn how to blend and merge together our faith, our mental capacity, and our love nature to become believers and disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are each challenged by our assignments yet blessed with the inner strength of the indwelling Christ. We must, therefore, embrace this unique indwelling presence, which makes all good things truly possible!
