The story is about a high school graduate named Hara, who attended college at TSU, a college in San Marcos, Texas, where she reunites with her ex-boyfriend named Bishop Summers but at the same time becomes friends with a fellow student named Stephen. Stephen becomes obsessed over her and sets up a plot with one of Hara's roommates to break her and Bishop up. When the plot doesn't go as planned, he kidnaps Hara and keeps her tied up in his barn for three weeks. Within those three weeks, he makes her quit TSU, turns her back to her friends and family, including Bishop. Also within those three weeks he beats and rapes her. Her mom hires a private investigator to find Hara. Once he finds Hara, her mom, the private investigator, and Bishop team up to rescue Hara, but the plan to rescue Hara will become a difficult task because Stephen has killed someone before and to keep Hara, he would do so again. Although they are excessively self-serving at times, they care well for their families and contribute to the welfare of others. Eventually they become challenged by the price for their self-indulgence. Motivation is probed. Reader reaction will be diverse and controversial.

Experiential Christianity The main objective of this book is to illuminate the experiential arm of Christianity, and by doing so, redefine its devotional arm. The devotional arm may guide but it takes the experiential arm to confirm. By its nature, experiential Christianity can bypass religious borders as it is not a dogma, theology, or a belief, but a state of experiential being. Hence, can connect with, and be beneficial to, everyone regardless of his or her religious affiliation. In this reevaluation of Christianity its ‘living’ essence is revealed. That exposure reveals an experiential pathway that unveils a practical foundation for a moral compass to steer one through the various hazards of daily living. By learning to avoid those hazards your one and only purpose in life is revealed, which is to discover the experiential reality of the statement made by Jesus, that ‘God is within you’. Everything else is secondary. Meaning, that experience is primary as it is used to define ‘how’ one lives, acts, and thinks. Based upon that experience a moral foundation naturally arises providing a cornerstone for ethical stances that cannot be manipulated or twisted by the many and varied seductive ‘playthings’ engendered by self-interest. The depth of understanding released by the actual experiential discovery that ‘God is within you’ changes your life forever: you are truly reborn. However, that experience is not achievable by belief alone. You must be willing to experientially delve into the core of your existence to discover the reality of that statement by Jesus. This volume contains essays by a range of distinguished philosophers on the problem of self-deception, or rather, self and deception. The work proceeds from the assumption that changing constructions of self within Western cultures, and alternative notions of self in other cultures requires that we rethink traditional strategies for explaining the phenomenon of self-deception. The concept of self is central to any sustained inquiry into self-deception, the pertinent issue being what sort of self is victim (or beneficiary) of self deception. Several of the authors here base their thinking on the model of "other-deception," and include discussion of the notions of double selves, multiple selves, and subsystems of the self, to address this troubling problem. Other authors argue that "other-deception" is not an adequate or reliable model to guide our thinking on this issue. The psychological and moral dimensions of self-deception generate a rich discussion, as do its epistemic implications. The concept of emotionality also receives sustained attention.
