No Miracle written by Mitchell Wigdor and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-23 with Political Science categories.

No Miracle examines the role of institutions in bridging the 'digital divide' between rich and poor nations and what that means for the country's integration into a global economy. Shifting the debate from whether institutions are important to economic development to which institutions are important and how to build them, Mitchell Wigdor expertly addresses fundamental shortcomings in the existing development literature by identifying specific institutions that mediate the relationship between Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and economic growth. In doing so he challenges those concerned with development to shift their gaze from whether institutions are important to economic development to which institutions might be the focus of government efforts and how to build them. Detailed case studies of the economic development strategies of Singapore and Malaysia from 1960 demonstrate that institution-building and economic development may be as much about process as the specific policies governments pursue. Written in accessible, non-technical, language this book should be read by everyone concerned with economic growth both in less economically developed countries and the more prosperous including those in government, international organizations, NGOs, universities, policy makers and the private sector.

The capybara is the neotropical mammal with the highest potential for production and domestication. Amongst the favorable characteristics for domestication we can list its high prolificacy, rapid growth rate, a herbivorous diet, social behavior and relative tameness. The genus (with only two species) is found from the Panama Canal to the north of Argentina on the east of the Andes. Chile is the only country in South America where the capybara is not found. The species is eaten all over its range, especially by poor, rural and traditional communities engaged in subsistence hunting. On the other hand, in large urban settlements wildlife is consumed by city dwellers as a delicacy. The sustainable management of capybara in the wild has been adopted by some South American countries, while others have encouraged capybara rearing in captivity.

Computational Modeling And Data Analysis In Covid 19 Research written by Chhabi Rani Panigrahi and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-09 with Medical categories.

This book covers recent research on the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes the analysis, implementation, usage, and proposed ideas and models with architecture to handle the COVID-19 outbreak. Using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), techniques for data analysis, this book will be helpful to mitigate exposure and ensure public health. We know prevention is better than cure, so by using several ML techniques, researchers can try to predict the disease in its early stage and develop more effective medications and treatments. Computational technologies in areas like AI, ML, Internet of Things (IoT), and drone technologies underlie a range of applications that can be developed and utilized for this purpose. Because in most cases there is no one solution to stop the spreading of pandemic diseases, and the integration of several tools and tactics are needed. Many successful applications of AI, ML, IoT, and drone technologies already exist, including systems that analyze past data to predict and conclude some useful information for controlling the spread of COVID-19 infections using minimum resources. The AI and ML approach can be helpful to design different models to give a predictive solution for mitigating infection and preventing larger outbreaks. This book: Examines the use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and drone technologies as a helpful predictive solution for controlling infection of COVID-19 Covers recent research related to the COVID-19 pandemic and includes the analysis, implementation, usage, and proposed ideas and models with architecture to handle a pandemic outbreak Examines the performance, implementation, architecture, and techniques of different analytical and statistical models related to COVID-19 Includes different case studies on COVID-19 Dr. Chhabi Rani Panigrahi is Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar, India. Palms are tropical miracles. Heinrich Heine, the German poet, stated "Unter den Palmen wandert man nicht ungestraft", i.e., one does not wander unpunished under the palms. It was Professor H.C.D. de Wit who taught me this in the late 1950s, and it is a pleasure to forward this message to the next generation in such an appropriate book. Both authors, as I know them, will bear the punishment of the palms. They will never be without palm nostalgia if and when living somewhere outside this world's tropical and subtropical palm belt. Palm nostalgia goes further than palms alone. It concerns the landscape, the short but splendid sunsets and last, but not least, the tropical people. Their elegance of living, structured in subtler ways than managers will ever understand, their laughter which may be a more decisive weapon against the troubles besetting the tropics than mere economics, and their unique life force erupting on festive as well as sad occasions under the palms will always remain with those who w3)ldered beneath these trees. I know. I was there.
