Thus the present publication will contain notices of my proceedings from the time I reached Adelaide, in South Australia, which took place about the middle of the year 1850, until I arrived in Southampton in the early part of 1854. During this comparatively long period there will be necessarily numerous gaps in the Diary. The occupant of a quiet country chaplaincy in Tasmania does not encounter very exciting adventures.
