Laksana hamparan padang ilalang kala malam, yang dihias kerlip ribuan kunang-kunang. Benak kita setiap saat dipenuhi kerlip rasa, ide dan pemikiran. Ketika melihat sesuatu, mencium sesuatu, meraba sesuatu, benak kita serta-merta bertabur kerlip cerita. Sering kali banyak kerlip kisah yang bertahan dalam angan, seolah enggan pergi. Jika kerlip jumawa tersebut berisi cerita bahagia, memang kita akan sentiasa merasa bahagia. Namun jika kerlip jumawa ini berisi cerita pedih, kita akan menderita dirundung sedih. Ada banyak cara untuk memutus belenggu penderitaan itu. Salahsatunya adalah dengan cara mengukirkan kerlip ini pada selarik tulisan. Tulislah apa yang kita rasakan, maka kerlip ini akan keluar dari benak kita, berpindah mengisi ruang tulisan dan terpahat selamanya disana. Begitulah yang saya lakukan selama ini. Menuliskan kerlip-kerlip asa dalam bait-bait puisi. Untuk mengeluarkan kerlip jumawa. Mengapa puisi? karena dengannya saya bisa mengukirkan kerlip asa dengan indah, sarat makna, semua rasa bisa tercurah. Kemudian puisi-puisi ini saya susun menjadi buku. Karena dengan mengumpulkannya menjadi buku, akan terjalin rangkaian peristiwa yang dengan sendirinya mewujud satu episode dalam hidup.

Terkadang selintas baris dan bait puitis, melesat membelah angan. Jika tak segera diabadikan, maka dia kan hilang dalam malam. Karenanya ketika mendapat bintang jatuh baris puitis, saya segera menuliskannya di hp atau di aplikasi Path, dalam format #pathdaily. Saya pilih #pathdaily karena dengan fitur ini, tulisan saya akan tampil diatas gambar. Ini memudahkan kita untuk membacanya, karena tulisannya lebih besar dan lebih menarik perhatian. Baris-baris puitis ini saya tulis dalam bentuk puisi bebas. Selain dalam bentuk puisi bebas, saya juga suka menuliskan lintasan baris puitis dalam bentuk Haiku. Baris Puitis dan Haiku ini, jika saya membacanya kembali, ketika itu juga hadir suasana saat baris itu ditulis. Terinspirasi oleh hal tersebut, saya pun kemudian mengumpulkan baris-baris puitis dan haiku saya dalam bentuk buku. Sehingga memudahkan saya untuk menikmati kembali rasa-rasa yang terlarut dalam tiap baris puitis tersebut.

Khalil Gibran was a Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist, also considered a philosopher although he himself rejected this title in his lifetime.
