Notre thèse vise à explorer la dimension interculturelle dans les dictionnaires bilingues italien-français. La première partie présente une approche théorique à la question. Une redéfinition des notions de culture et interculturel précède une étude des relations entre langues et cultures. Ensuite, nous nous sommes penché sur les thèmes suivants, dans une progression qui a concerné : le statut épistémologique de la lexicographie bilingue et ses rapports avec la linguistique ; les apories qui dérivent du concept d'équivalence ; la spécificité de la traduction dans les dictionnaires bilingues ; les apports de la sémantique à la lexicographie. Nous nous sommes finalement arrêté sur le concept de connotation et sur quelques traditions de recherche qui mettent en lumière les valeurs culturelles dans la langue (les mots-clés, les mots à charge culturelle partagée et la lexiculture, les scénarios culturels et l'épaisseur du langage). La deuxième partie de la thèse est consacrée à l'étude du corpus. L'analyse a été menée sur la lettre A des quatre dictionnaires bilingues italien-français pris en examen (Boch, Garzanti, Hachette-Paravia, Larousse). Nous avons tout d'abord essayé de souligner la valeur et la typologie des écarts produits dans l'équivalence, notamment des écarts culturels. Ensuite, nous nous sommes concentré sur les exemples à fonction culturelle, montrant l'importance des stéréotypes et des points de vue partagés. L'analyse des notes culturelles et de quelques faux emprunts a enfin permis d'enrichir ultérieurement notre approche à la problématique.
