This volume addresses the teaching and learning of vocabulary in Italian L2 from different points of view, defining an updated and heterogeneous framework. Sono questi alcuni esempi dei deficit linguistici che emergono tra tanti giovani adolescenti, e non solo tra essi. Partendo da un punto di vista “privilegiato”, vicino alla realtà scolastica ed al mondo dei giovani, questo saggio indaga le cause del malessere linguistico diffuso e generalizzato che uniforma e appiattisce la realtà comunicativa delle nuove generazioni, e fornisce dei suggerimenti pratici ai tanti docenti che spendono il proprio impegno per arginare il fenomeno. Che la diffusione della padronanza della lingua ad un livello medio-alto sia un bene per ogni comunità e per il suo sviluppo, è un fatto riconosciuto da tanto tempo. Parlare correttamente è lo stesso che pensare razionalmente, e crea le condizioni per affrontare le molteplici sfide dell’innovazione globale, formando cittadini consapevoli del proprio ruolo nella società, in grado di discriminare, valutare, scegliere, partecipare. «Un populu | mittitulu a catina | spugghiatulu | attuppatici a vucca | è ancora libiru.
