Willkommen in New Work!

Human resource (HR) governance is a relatively new construct that has recently begun attracting more and more attention in both research and practice. As a part of corporate governance, it represents the internal and external normative framework of human resource management and its supervision in organizations. This book theoretically integrates HR governance with the related domains of corporate governance, general management, HR management, and leadership. By doing so, it provides scholars and practitioners in the field with a precisely delineated system of theoretical concepts for their work and helps to translate these concepts into concrete research questions and practical guidelines. By interpreting the new ISO 30408 norm on human governance and taking into account recent developments, the book helps to comply with and anticipate current and future HR regulations.

In an era that has brought new and unexpected challenges for virtually every company, one would be hard-pressed to find any responsible manager who is not thinking about what the future will bring. In the wake of these challenges, strategic planning has moved from being the reserve of large corporations to becoming an essential need for even small and medium-sized enterprises. But what good is even the most convincing strategic concept if the company’s people are unwilling or unable to put it into practice? The key is to develop people, and to develop them not only for the work of today, but also for the challenges that the future holds. Strategic HR development has become a decisive force for the success of any business. This book, edited by Matthias T. Meifert, shows us which basic considerations we need to remember and what strategic HR development means in practice. Its interesting and vivid approach takes the reader on a tour of the eight stages of HR development, introduces the critical factors, and highlights many practical recommendations for strategic HR development practice in business.

Quality Learning written by John Loughran and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-02 with Educational change categories.

When teachers are supported to work together in ways that allow them to deepen knowledge of their professional practice, the understandings that emerge from their conversations about quality learning and teaching demonstrate a high level of expertise. Yet such professional knowledge is often deeply embedded within each teacher's everyday teaching; the tacit knowledge that determines how and why they attend to student learning in certain ways. This book captures the professional knowledge of teachers that developed as the result of an ongoing process of school based change, where teachers began to work differently because they began to think differently about the learning that mattered for their students in their school. The explication of their knowledge of practice became possible due to the ongoing support they received from their school leadership - in most part because leadership trusted them as professionals to responsibly lead student learning. Within this culture of trust and valued collaboration, working alongside external critical friends who supported their professional learning, the teachers engaged in regular, thought provoking and interactive professional dialogue. Together they exposed and challenged each other's thinking and beliefs about learning and teaching, captured and examined each other's practice and, ultimately articulated and extended their professional knowledge. The insights about this collaborative learning process and the emergent knowledge and understandings teachers develop about the interactive relationship between learning and teaching, has much to contribute to educational discourse beyond the school setting. Some of that knowledge and the way it looks in practice is shared in this book.

The past 40 years have established recruitment as a fundamental area of research to both researchers and practitioners. No longer is recruitment viewed as simply another component of human resource management but rather a strategic tool with wide-ranging implications for organizations. To this extent investigations on the subject have drawn upon diverse perspectives from economics to marketing, highlighting recruitment's links with multiple aspects of organizational functioning such as selection, onboarding, organizational culture, job performance, and turnover. The goal of this handbook is to provide an integrative and comprehensive summary of the state of recruitment research. It is hoped that by providing insight to both theoretical and empirical underpinnings of the topic this volume will focus readers to the important issues affecting our understanding and application of recruitment concepts; and provide structure toward current thinking and future exploration of the field. In the spirit of investigative inquiry, the book's chapters are organized according to the questions they answer about the nature of recruitment: Who is involved in recruitment; What do these stakeholders do; When do recruitment phenomenon occur; Where does recruitment take place; Why does recruitment influence various stakeholders in the process; and finally, how is recruitment investigated? Aimed at both potential and existing recruiters, the expert contributions included in this handbook serve as a springboard to energize and focus future endeavor in recruitment, an increasingly pertinent driver of individual and organizational success.
