Schulim Mandel and Simon Wiesenthal are both survivors of the Shoah. After the liberation, the two protagonists meet in the DP camp Asten near Linz in the early 1950s. What starts out as a friendly encounter develops as a result of Simon Wiesenthal's manipulations into a life-threatening feud against the former friend Schulim Mandel. In the unpleasant course of events the two faces of the "Nazi hunter" become clearly evident. "Truth Always Has Its Enemies" is a moving factual report based on the notes of Schulim Mandel.

DE: DIE BARACKE – Übersetzer: Frank Weigand EN: THE SHACK – Translator, Kate McNaughton Editor: Union des Théâtres de l ́Europe TERRORisms is a cooperation project led by the “Union des Théâtres de l ́Europe” with the support of the “Culture” programme of the European Union. Developed in collaboration between five theatres in Stuttgart, Oslo, Belgrade, Tel Aviv and Reims, the TERRORisms project resulted in the creation of five original plays dealing with the issue of terrorism. Written over the period of 2013 through 2015, the plays by Fritz Kater in Stuttgart, Milena Marković in Belgrade, Maya Arad in Tel Aviv, Jonas Corell Petersen in Oslo and Aiat Fayez in Reims led to the organisation of a series of world premieres, production exchanges, meetings, conferences and discussions all around Europe and beyond. These five plays — the original version and their translations into English and German — are now available as an eBook, for free.

November 1918 written by Robert Gerwarth and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-25 with History categories.

The German Revolution of November 1918 is nowadays largely forgotten outside Germany. It is generally regarded as a failure even by those who have heard of it, a missed opportunity which paved the way for the rise of the Nazis and the catastrophe to come. Robert Gerwarth argues here that to view the German Revolution in this way is a serious misjudgement. Not only did it bring down the authoritarian monarchy of the Hohenzollern, it also brought into being the first ever German democracy in an amazingly bloodless way. Focusing on the dramatic events between the last months of the First World War in 1918 and Hitler's Munich Putsch of 1923, Robert Gerwarth illuminates the fundamental and deep-seated ways in which the November Revolution changed Germany. In doing so, he reminds us that, while it is easy with the benefit of hindsight to write off the 1918 Revolution as a 'failure', this failure was not somehow pre-ordained. In 1918, the fate of the German Revolution remained very much an open book.
