Ziel dieses Scientific Essay ist es, zu bestimmen in welchem Land die Besteuerung der Einkünfte von Sportlern und Künstlern in DBA zu erfolgen hat und welche Besteuerungsmethode gewählt werden muss. Dazu werden im ersten Teil erläutert, welche Personen unter den Begriff des Künstlers und Sportlers nach Artikel 17 I des OECD-MA fallen. Es folgen die Grundlagen der Besteuerung, die sich aus Artikel 17 des OECD-MA ergeben und die Darstellung der verschiedenen Besteuerungsmethoden. Außerdem werden drei Fallgruppen beschrieben, bei der die Besteuerung im Wohnsitzstaat des Künstlers/Sportlers durch-zuführen ist. Abschließend folgt der Praxisbezug, der dazu dient, die theoretischen Grundlagen zu festigen. Das Scientific Essay wird durch ein Fazit beendet, welches die wesentlichen Aspekte des Scientific Essay nochmal zusammenfasst.
