In den vergangenen 15 Jahren hat sich der grenzübergreifende Wirtschaftsraum hinsichtlich der Finanzprodukte und auch die damit verbundene Nachfrage nach solchen Produkten stark verändert. Die Gesetzgebung in Österreich und Deutschland musste auf Grund dieser Veränderung eine Gesetzesänderung im Bereich der Kapitalerträge in der jüngsten Vergangenheit veranlassen. Durch die räumliche Nähe und der gemeinsamen Sprache entwickelten sich zwei ähnliche Methoden um Erträge aus Kapitalveranlagungen zu besteuern. In Deutschland werden Gewinne mit Hilfe der Abgeltungssteuer und in Österreich mittels Kapitalertragssteuer besteuert. Es gibt trotz der gemeinsamen Sprache und dem gemeinsamen Wirtschaftsraum der Europäischen Union doch Unterschiede in den jeweiligen nationalen Gesetzen. Beispielsweise wurde in Österreich im Gegensatz zu Deutschland dem Bereich derivativer Finanzinstrumente, der immer mehr an Bedeutung erlangt, eine eigene gesetzliche Regelung gewidmet. Die zentrale Problemstellung dieser Arbeit ist die Unterschiede in der Besteuerung von Kapitalgewinnen zwischen Österreich und Deutschland herauszuarbeiten. Dazu werden die häufigsten Anlageformen, wie zum Beispiel Aktien, Anleihen oder Optionen, im deutschsprachigen Raum herangezogen und erklärt. Im nächsten Schritt wird die Besteuerung der Erträge aus diesen Produkten mit Beispielen erläutert. Damit soll ein grundlegendes Verständnis für den Vergleich der Besteuerung von Kapitalerträgen in Österreich und Deutschland geschaffen werden.*****The European Economic Area has changed during the last 15 years. Accordingly the financial products and the demand transformed. The legislatives in Austria and Germany were forced to remake the existing law of capital gains. Therefor, Germany presented a tax called Abgeltungssteuer and Austria introduced changes to the existing Kapitalerstragsteuer. Even though Germany and Austria speak the same language and belong to one economic zone their national regulations differ somehow. The German law, for example, does not have a special paragraph for derivatives, whereas the Austrian law has one.The main aim of this Master thesis is to work out the differences between these two laws. This is done with the help of the most common financial products like shares, bonds and options, which are therefore explained in this thesis. Afterwards the taxation of the capital gains from the financial products is discussed and illustrated with examples. This should help to gain basic knowledge of the capital gains tax in Austria and Germany.

This book deals with the inner life of the capitalist firm. There we find numerous conflicts, the most important of which concerns the individual employment relationship which is understood as a principal-agent problem between the manager, the principal, who issues orders that are to be followed by the employee, the agent. Whereas economic theory traditionally analyses this relationship from a (normative) perspective of the firm in order to support the manager in finding ways to influence the behavior of the employees, such that the latter – ideally – act on behalf of their superior, this book takes a neutral stance. It focusses on explaining individual behavioral patterns and the resulting interactions between the actors in the firm by taking sociological, institutional, and above all, psychological research into consideration.
