Just like a phantom, the topic of »gene doping« keeps haunting the debates regarding the future of competitive sports for years. INDES 2/2014 widmet sich im Schwerpunkt den »Tabus«. Der Tabu-Begriff ist denkbar schwammig und breit. Grundsätzlich lässt sich nahezu alles und jedes tabuisieren. Tabus können Personen, Lebewesen, Dinge oder irgendeine mit Glaubensvorstellungen behaftete Örtlichkeit sein. Einerseits stabilisieren Tabus die Bezugssysteme von Menschen und das gesellschaftliche Machtgefüge, indem sie Korridore des Erlaubten markieren und bestimmte Gedanken, Äußerungen und Handlungen sanktionieren. Tabus sind mithin Bestandteile einer funktionierenden menschlichen Gesellschaft. Zudem beeinflussen sie auch aktiv die sozialen Strukturen, etwa indem sie den Wenigen, die über die Einhaltung der Tabus wachen, enormen Einfluss zuschanzen. Andererseits verlieren Tabus ihre Funktion als Stabilisatoren der bestehenden Zustände in dem Moment, da sich Tabubrüche häufen und Übertretungen allgemein üblich werden. Dann beschleunigt das apodiktische Festhalten an überkommenen und offenkundig überständig gewordenen Tabus ihren Legitimitätsverlust noch zusätzlich. Bedenkenswert ist ebenfalls, dass Tabus stets auch ihre Verneinung fördern, dass sie also nicht nur den Resonanzkörper für provokative Tabubrüche darstellen, sondern auch die Person des Tabubrechers überhaupt erst hervorbringen.

Ausreichender und effektiver Rechtsschutz wird den Sportlern demgegenuber nur teilweise gewahrleistet. Julia Kleen setzt sich zunachst mit den Defiziten des derzeitigen Anti-Doping-Systems auseinander und erarbeitet dann einen Vorschlag fur eine globale Anti-Doping-Organisation, durch deren Schaffung sowohl die Effektivitat der Anti-Doping-Bekampfung gesteigert als auch wirksamer Rechtschutz fur die Athleten gewahrleistet werden konnte.

Ausgangspunkt dazu ist die Beobachtung, dass die sportlichen Karrieren der Jugendlichen entweder als besonders ‚wertvolle‘ Ressource im Lebenslauf betrachtet wird, die auch positive Effekte im Hinblick auf das Leben nach dem Leistungssport hat oder als Risiko für deren Lebenslauf, weil damit eine umfassende Orientierung am Leistungssport einhergeht und andere Teilbereiche des Lebenslaufs (z.B. Bildung) nachrangig werden. Im Ergebnis zeigen sich Spannungsmomente und Herausforderungen ebenso deutlich wie die Gestaltungsspielräume, die sich in dieser Lebenswelt ergeben.
