Auf über 1.000 Seiten stellt der Historiker Pierre Broué die Ereignisse der revolutionären Periode in Deutschland bis 1923 dar. Dabei stützt er sich auf umfangreiches Originalmaterial, um die Auseinandersetzungen in der Arbeiter*innenbewegung über eine revolutionäre Politik nicht nur wiederzugeben, sondern er unterzieht sie einer Analyse.
