Eurokrise wird der Dauerzustand genannt, welcher seit 2009 als Status Quo der Europäischen Union angesehen wird. Folge sind und waren Massenarbeitslosigkeit, hohe Staatsschulden und ein instabiles Wirtschaftssystem. Beinahe monatlich musste die Europäische Union, gemeinsam mit der Europäischen Zentralbank und dem Internationalen Währungsfonds an Lösungen zum Bekämpfen der Krise arbeiten. Aber nicht nur die strukturellen Probleme selbst, sondern auch die unterschiedlichen Ansichten der einzelnen Eurostaaten gehörte zu den Schwierigkeiten der Krise. Gut acht Jahre nach Ausbruch der Krise sind zwar die akuten Symptome eingedämmt, und doch kann noch lange nicht von einer Beendigung der Krise gesprochen werden.
