Europäische Sozialpolitik wird immer wieder mit Blick auf die Institutionen und die Politik-bereiche diskutiert - und es wird stets bemängelt, dass sie wenig entwickelt ist bzw. spät erst entwickelt wurde. The name "Brussels" has become largely synonymous with the regulatory role of the EU. Yet "Brussels" is also a source of inspiration, especially in such areas where the EU is not empowered to regulate, and this side of "Brussels" is a rather different one. The emerging policy field of sport (which only recently got a legal base in the Treaty of Lisbon) illustrates the complementarity of inspiration versus regulation coming "from Brussels". By drawing on two case studies - the fight against doping and the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity - the book shows that inspiration "from Brussels" takes on a special dimension in relation to sport and physical activity because sport policies are often heavily dependent on various, largely unquestioned arrangements which are in place at national, regional or local level. While EU-level regulation remains a possibility in certain cases, the scope for regulation is very limited. The scope for inspiration, by contrast, is almost endless. The sport sector is a natural candidate for inspiration and inspiration "from Brussels" can be an opportunity for renewal.

This book gathered contributions by the editor, Peter Herrmann, and Wendy Earles and Brigitte Kratzwald. Rather than looking in a specialist perspective at different aspects of current social analysis, it aims to provide a transverse insight into issues of a new world order. Economic and political changes are seen as interwoven in such a way that they mark a system shift. Although catchy terms as re-feudalisation are tempting, they need to be developed in a historical analysis that brings economic and political shifts comprehensively together. The present book, one of three volumes 'Writings on Philosophy and Economy of Power', does not claim to be conclusive. However it presents the view on some core issues. The fundamental view is that we find a shift in the understanding of political regulation that is grounded in a change of the economic formation. However, rather than focusing on the thesis of a simple 'take over' by capitalism or neo-liberalism it is suggested that such development actually means that development is to a large extent actually shifting away from capitalism. Its basic structures, determined by economic laws, are replaced by politically dominated mechanisms of control and steering. As much as feudal structures had been pre-capitalist in their character, we are now facing a post-capitalist feudalism.

Social Policy research and respective debates have become over time distinct – as matter of gaining their own frame of reference or the other way round: emerging as some kind of policy ‘modern moral’, without maintaining their genuine and explicit reference to the wider economic and regulative system of society. This surely takes different national shapes but can nevertheless be seen as general developmental trend. Paradoxically this development means at the same time that social policy is most fragile and open to influences from external requirements, demands and perhaps more importantly hegemonic mindsets. In the present research outlook the four most important issues are re-integrated: 1) social policy as part of a general mode of production – as resulting from it but also the search for an answer on it, 2) being as such genuinely also part of the development of the modern state, 3) being on the other side closely linked to the positioning of individuals as socio-economic actors – this will be in particular developed as matter of precarity. 4) The debate of Human Rights begs against this background special attention – and it will be approached by developing a framework for local and also for global conceptual consideration.

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Film und Fernsehen, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Warum läuft „Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten“ seit 16 Jahren immer montags bis freitags um 19.40 Uhr auf RTL? Warum laufen an Feiertagen gleich mehrere gute Spielfilme und an einem gewöhnlichen Wochentag so gut wie gar keine? Und warum beginnt eigentlich das Abendprogramm auf allen Sendern um 20.15 Uhr? Das Programmschema nimmt im werbefinanzierten Fernsehen eine bedeutende Rolle ein. Die Struktur des Programmangebotes beeinflusst nicht nur die Attraktivität und die Akzeptanz einer einzelnen Sendung, sondern entscheidet zugleich über den wirtschaftlichen Erfolg und die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit eines privaten Fernsehsenders. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt sich damit auseinander, wie das Programmschema eines Privatsenders strukturiert sein muss, um einen möglichst hohen Marktanteil zu erreichen und dementsprechend hohe Einnahmen aus dem Werbemarkt erzielen zu können. Um mit dem eigenen Programm die Aufmerksamkeit möglichst vieler Zuschauer für sich zu gewinnen, müssen die Programmplaner verschiedenste Faktoren berücksichtigen. Es wird erklärt, warum das Programm auf die Bedürfnisse der Zuschauer und deren Tagesrhythmus angepasst werden muss, welche senderinternen und –externen Gegebenheiten beachtet werden müssen, und warum die Programmumgebung ausschlaggebend für die Zuschauerbindung ist. Dazu werden die Strategien für die Platzierung eines Formates vorgestellt, die die Programmplaner anwenden, um die Programmwahl zu ihren Gunsten zu beeinflussen und gezeigt, warum diese vorrangig auf das Ziel der Maximierung des Audience-Flows und der Förderung der Rezeptionsgewohnheiten ausgerichtet sind. Anhand einer praktischen Analyse des Programmschemas von RTL wird untersucht, wie diese Strategien in der Realität umgesetzt werden und warum es möglich ist, mit einer geschickten Programmierung zum Marktführer auf dem deutschen Fernsehmarkt zu werden.
