Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Politik - Politisches System Deutschlands, Note: 2, Technische Universität Berlin (Politikwissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es soll in dieser Arbeit dargestellt werden, welche Stellung, Legitimation und Zukunftschancen die PDS im Parteiensystem der BRD besitzt. Seit der Wiedervereinigung im Jahre 1990 hat die Bundesrepublik Deutschland fünf neue Bundesländer hinzugewonnen. Die Partei PDS ist seit der politischen Wende in diesen "Neuen Bundesländern" im Bundestag zusätzlich als Opposition vertreten. Anfang der 90er Jahren wurde vermutet, dass die PDS als Relikt der DDR-Vergangenheit in den nächsten Jahren in der politischen Bedeutungslosigkeit verschwinden würde. Durch zahlreiche Stasi-Affären und Finanzskandale war ihr Fortbestand tatsächlich gefährdet. Bis heute (Juli 2001) ist die PDS jedoch im Parteiensystem der BRD vertreten. Je nach politischer Ausrichtung wird die PDS als linksradikale Antisystempartei, als Protestpartei oder als normale linke Partei beurteilt.
