Der Mensch bleibt dabei im Mittelpunkt und ist Ziel aller Schutzstrategien zur Vermeidung der schlimmsten Folgen des Klimawandels. Er nimmt seine Rolle als "Hüter der Schöpfung" in Verantwortung an. Die Katholische Kirche als eine der größten weltweit aktiven Einrichtungen kann in diesem Zusammenhang eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Dazu ist ihre Lehre in Fragen des Umwelt- und Klimaschutzes zu verbreiten und praktisch umzusetzen.

Pers nlich besch ftige ich mich schon seit l ngerer Zeit mit dem Umwelt- und Klimaschutz. So ist mir aufgefallen, dass sich viele Menschen und gerade auch Christen nur wenig oder gar nicht f r den Klimaschutz engagieren und faktisch kein umweltbewusstes Verhalten zeigen. Doch gerade Christen haben die Pflicht, die von Gott geschenkte Sch pfung zu bewahren und Klimaschutz aktiv zu praktizieren. Deshalb entschied ich mich ganz bewusst dazu, meine Zulassungsarbeit ber diese Themenstellung zu schreiben und darin zu verdeutlichen, dass alle Menschen und besonders die Kirche herausgefordert sind, ihren gr tm glichen Beitrag zum Klimaschutz zu leisten. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden zun chst die aktuelle Situation sowie die internationale Klimapolitik und die kologische Krise kurz umrissen. Anschlie end erfolgen eine Auswertung der theologischen und biblischen Grundlagen zum Klimaschutz sowie eine Darstellung des Sch pfungsauftrages. In einem n chsten Schritt wird exemplarisch beschrieben, was das Bistum W rzburg durch Personen und Aktionen zum Klimaschutz beitr gt. Schlie lich werden Konsequenzen f r jeden Einzelnen, die Gesellschaft und die Kirche benannt.
