A historia da nação brasileira é constituída por diferentes grupos étnico-raciais que não tiveram igualdade na participação política, econômica, cultural e na narrativa historiográfica. O que a escola ainda transmite através de currículo e ensino sobre os indígenas, negros e/ou afro-brasileiros é uma contínua cristalização de uma visão inferiorizada, superficial e distorcida destes grupos étnicos na história. Discutir sobre as relações étnico-raciais são iniciativas que defendem a concretização da democracia. O Colégio Municipal Anísio Teixeira (CMAT) pode contribuir em sua formação política para a difusão de ideologias, respeito às diferenças através da política curricular das Leis No 10.639/2003 e No 11.645/2008 que tornaram obrigatório o estudo da história e cultura da África, dos negros, afro-brasileiros dos povos indígenas. As escolas brasileiras enfrentam problemas estruturais na organização de seus currículos. O objetivo desta pesquisa é: Analisar a estrutura curricular e o processo de ensino sobre diversidade étnico-racial e sua relação com a formação política no Colégio Municipal Anísio Teixeira em Prado-Bahia. A abordagem que guia esta pesquisa é de caráter descritivo e interpretativo com uma metodologia qualitativa. Para tal feito utilizou-se questionários e observação participante. Embora as propostas para inserção do estudo da história e cultura afrobrasileira e indígena através dos pareceres, diretrizes que norteiam este ensino, percebeu-se através dos questionários e da observação participante que há uma deficiência na sua plena efetivação. Foi sinalizada uma preocupação dos docentes e coordenadores pedagógicos sobre a diversidade étnico-racial no currículo; no entanto, os estudantes ainda possuem em sua concepção, uma visão superficial sobre o indígena, o negro ou afro-brasileiro e as respostas revelaram também percepções racistas. A escola tem tido cuidado de inserir estes estudos nos projetos e eventos festivos do calendário escolar e na escolha do livro didático de história. As transformações estruturais dependem de um tempo, pois, o que tem sido difundido ao longo dos anos pela historiografia não se desfaz rapidamente, portanto, a escola passa por um período de transição, adaptação para a inserção da diversidade étnico-racial no currículo.
