Am Beispiel der institutionalisierten Kleinkind- und Altenbetreuung entwickelt diese Arbeit auf Basis umfangreicher konzeptioneller Überlegungen ein Untersuchungsmodell zu den Determinanten, Reflektoren und Effekten nachfragerbezogener Reputation im Kontext sozialer Dienstleistungen. Die empirische Analyse einer Stichprobe von über 200 Mitgliedern der Zielgruppe legt dabei den Schluss nahe, dass insbesondere Personal, physische Umgebung, Managementqualität sowie das Identifikationspotenzial die Reputation sozialer Einrichtungen beeinflussen. Gleichzeitig kann der erwartete hohe Einfluss positiver Reputation auf die Unterstützungspotenziale der Nachfrager – und damit auf den langfristigen Erfolg der Einrichtungen – statistisch nachgewiesen werden. Diese Erkenntnisse ermöglichen die Ableitung zahlreicher praxisbezogener Handlungsempfehlungen für ein erfolgreiches Reputationsmanagement im deutschen Sozialsektor.
