Bøgerne er letlæselige og henvender sig til børn og unge fra 10-14 år. Birgit Pouplier (1925 - 2014) var en dansk forfatter og skuespiller. Hun blev uddannet skuespiller fra Det kongelige teaters elevskole og fortsatte herefter på Odense teater og Det ny teater. Hun rejste vidt omkring, bl.a. til England, Uganda og Californien. Birgit Pouplier udgav adskillige bøger både børnebøger, novellesamlinger, voksenbøger og opsamlinger af hendes mange kroniker, som hun skrev til blandt andet Berlingske.
