Dolphinity traces the lives of twins, separated at birth, as they grow up on opposite coastlines. Jennifer's is a life of privilege based in California, while Daniel grows up on a houseboat in the Florida Keys. There he develops a special bond with dolphins. As a result of a strange boating accident (where hes presume drowned), Daniel enters the realm of the dolphins. Witnessing his own transformation into dolphin form, Daniel learns that a sect of dolphins descended from Atlantis. The priests of that era mastered the mysteries of genetics, and altered their forms to withstand the Great Flood. Instead of letting Daniel drown, the dolphins elect to make him one with them. Witness to the growing devastation of the worlds oceans, it is Daniels destiny to one day reveal all that he encountered. Living a parallel life, Jennifer marries and raises two children. However, a health crisis sends her on a vision-quest to Florida where her path intersects that of her brother! The dolphins are able to use Jennifer's genetic template to reverse engineer Daniel's form. He then becomes a powerful voice, speaking on behalf of sacred ecology. The story of twins returned to wholeness serves as a key metaphor for our times.

Balance Weights In The Aegean World written by Oğuz Tekin and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with Aegean Sea Coast (Turkey) categories.

"Historically, balance weights are as old as the balances themselves. Actually, balance and weight examples of Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Hittite civilisations are known from wall paintings, reliefs, papyri and collections. However, the scope of this book is the balance weights produced and used in the Aegean world during the Classical and Hellenistic periods. Balance weights were among the instruments of public sphere (instrumenta publica) of antiquity and they constitute an important group of antiquities worth studying for their unit marks, symbols, depictions, inscriptions and ornaments. However, balance weights have been among the most neglected artefacts within archaeological research. Certainly, this work at handbook level should not be expected to fill the gap entirely, but rather call attention to this field. The examples were chosen from the city-states in the Aegean world and cover only those which bear ethnic or symbol (parasemon)."--

Beast And Man written by Mary Midgley and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-03 with Education categories.

Philosophers have traditionally concentrated on the qualities that make human beings different from other species. In Beast and Man Mary Midgley, one of our foremost intellectuals, stresses continuities. What makes people tick? Largely, she asserts, the same things as animals. She tells us humans are rather more like other animals than we previously allowed ourselves to believe, and reminds us just how primitive we are in comparison to the sophistication of many animals. A veritable classic for our age, Beast and Man has helped change the way we think about ourselves and the world in which we live.

Mary Midgley written by Gregory McElwain and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-14 with Philosophy categories.

For over 40 years, Mary Midgley made a forceful case for the relevance and importance of philosophy. With characteristic wit and wisdom, she drew special attention to the ways in which our thought influences our everyday lives. Her wide-ranging explorations of human nature and the self; our connections with animals and the natural world; and the complexities of morality, gender, science, and religion all contributed to her reputation as one of the most expansive and compelling moral philosophers of the twentieth century. Mary Midgley: An Introduction is the first substantive introduction to Midgley's influential philosophy on the human condition. This volume, supplemented by original interviews with Midgley, outlines the concepts and perspectives for which she is best known and illuminates the philosophical problems to which she devoted her life's work.

"Once it enters the zone of my nought, the car is emptied out and, instead of informing me, only participates in my nothingness. There is a dynamic quest for resplendent forms-in two separate moments: the assumption of identities (impersonations), and the consumption of goods (in order to be informed by them)." -Walker Percy
