Almost a decade ago, the electronic commerce revolution began, led by such companies as Amazon.com and Ebay.com. These companies have grown into the internet business giants they are today, diversifying in the products they sell, the services they provide and the jurisdictions they conduct business in. However, aside from these rare examples, most medium and small internet-based business enterprises have grown with the dot.com bubble and dissolved when it burst mid-way through the decade. Now, at the 10th Anniversary of Electronic Commerce, after we have seen the dot.com way of doing business launch like a rocket and plunge like a comet, subsequently emerging into a more cautious, but no less potential, avenue of doing business, other challenges now face the industry as a whole to retain and obtain customers. Internet users are becoming increasingly wary of online transactions. The irony is that as internet users become technologically savvy, they also become more aware of the dangers which connectivity entails and this inhibits their online behaviour. Chief among these concerns, and second only to cybercrimes, is the maintenance of privacy in the context of the protection of personal information, particularly from the unsavory elements trawling the cyberworld. For cyber-trade and the e-commerce market to grow, and for the continued efficiency and utility of the internet for G2C and B2C transactions, governments and industries must re-instill the trust and confidence of internet users both in commercial and non-commercial interaction.

A Web Portal is a special web site designed to act as a gateway giving convenient access to other related sites. This book investigates the various types of portals and describes how they can be used in business applications. After considering the nature of portals, the book describes the first general portals like Yahoo, and how they came into being. Portals are used in businesses of all types and sizes and this book discusses how portals can be used in large business corporations as well as small to medium enterprises. Web portals have increasing importance to marketers as, by their nature, they retain their users who must return to them frequently. They also provide a useful means of making information and knowledge readily available in a convenient form to authorised users. This book covers a wide range of issues relating to the use of portals in business.

Techniques Of Social Influence written by Dariusz Dolinski and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-03 with Psychology categories.

Every day we are asked to fulfil others’ requests, and we make regular requests of others too, seeking compliance with our desires, commands and suggestions. This accessible text provides a uniquely in-depth overview of the different social influence techniques people use in order to improve the chances of their requests being fulfilled. It both describes each of the techniques in question and explores the research behind them, considering questions such as: How do we know that they work? Under what conditions are they more or less likely to be effective? How might individuals successfully resist attempts by others to influence them? The book groups social influence techniques according to a common characteristic: for instance, early chapters describe "sequential" techniques, and techniques involving egotistic mechanisms, such as using the name of one’s interlocutor. Later chapters present techniques based on gestures and facial movements, and others based on the use of specific words, re-examining on the way whether "please" really is a magic word. In every case, author Dariusz Dolinski discusses the existing experimental studies exploring their effectiveness, and how that effectiveness is enhanced or reduced under certain conditions. The book draws on historical material as well as the most up-to-date research, and unpicks the methodological and theoretical controversies involved. The ideal introduction for psychology graduates and undergraduates studying social influence and persuasion, Techniques of Social Influence will also appeal to scholars and students in neighbouring disciplines, as well as interested marketing professionals and practitioners in related fields.

The Portal to Past Life Insight is a collection of short stories about individuals looking for answers to life's challenges. After conventional methods have proven unsuccessful, clients turn to a hypnotherapist and past life specialist for an alternative approach.. Most of life's challenges center around lessons the soul has chosen to learn. Unfortunately, the soul often finds itself stuck in loops that transcend lifetimes. Traveling back in time, collecting information we identify lessons the soul is trying to learn. Each story transports us to various locations around the world, throughout history. Our journeys include Ancient Egypt, Siam, and Nazi Germany. We relive the Klondike Gold Rush, search for the Northwest Passage, and serve time as a political prisoner in the penal colony of Australia. Learn what to look for and how to find key information. See how the soul creates lives to learn and grow. Current and past lives are all intertwined so looking at one life in isolation definitely has limitations. It is much easier, more productive, and insightful to look at past lives when trying to solve issues - even 21st century issues. The Portal has a balance of humor and realism. The stories are interesting and uplifting, as well as inspirational. The book encourages the reader to want more - more out of life and more of a connection between their physical body and their soul.
