Être objectif - le plus que possible -, recourir à l'argument scientifique, pour son efficacité, est une nécessité pour moi pour trois raisons : Convaincre, éviter d'induire en erreur et défendre la Vérité.Les preuves scientifiques que le Coran renferme, confirmée et confirmant des données scientifique en lien avec les Signes évoqués dans le Livre saint, dont j'ai pu saisir, et porté à votre connaissance, ne sont pas là pour créer un dialogue, mais pour apaiser (et désamorcer une bombe) et appeler à une parole commune. Vous savez, chercher à savoir (ou à répondre) si le Coran prône la paix ou la violence, c'est puéril. La miséricorde n'empêche pas l'usage de la force quand c'est nécessaire, réciproquement. Islamophobia can be defined as the fear of or prejudiced viewpoint towards Islam, Muslims and matters pertaining to them. Whether it takes the shape of daily forms of racism and discrimination or more violent forms, Islamophobia is a violation of human rights and a threat to social cohesion. Young people are of course not immune to this. Young men and women are obviously affected when they become targets of Islamophobic attacks and abuse. But, just as importantly, they are also concerned by the general rise in discrimination and xenophobia, whether it be active or passive. At this seminar held in Budapest in June 2004, Islamophobia was discussed within the wider context of racism and discrimination in Europe, in new and old forms. The discussions also covered the troubling resurgence of Anti-Semitic attacks, Romaphobia and segregation of Roma communities and persistent forms of discrimination against visible minorities.The report of Ingrid Ramberg provides a personal account of the issues raised at the seminar as well as a very useful documentation of the presentations, workshops and debates. It also includes a series of policy recommendations aimed at preventing Islamophobia and fostering intercultural respect and coopération.

This book intends to review the meaning of contemporary in Arab intellectual history. It presents a classification of four periods in modern Arab intellectual history; they are the following: 1) Nahda: the great Arab renaissance period, from 1850 to 1914. The Nahda sought through translation and vulgarization to assimilate the great achievements of modern European civilization; 2) the period between the two wars characterized by the the development of thoughts which played a leading role in social movements, especially in nationalist movements; 3) the period the Arab nationalist experiments on the unionist ideology; and 4) the period of moral and political crisis after the defeat in the 1967 War. The central thesis of this book is that the concept of history - a concept playing a capital role in modern thought - is in fact peripheral to all the ideologies that have dominated the Arab world till now.
