Aber auch bei ihnen ist die Frage, was sie wirklich können? Schon Goethe resignierte: "Setz dir Perücken auf Millionen Locken, setz deinen Fuß auf Ellen hohe Socken, du bleibst doch immer, was du bist." Inzwischen ist man nicht zuletzt unter dem Druck immer komplizierterer Lebensverhältnisse wieder optimistisch: Der Mensch kann sich ändern. Und er kann es, weil er es muss. Allerdings kann niemand anders ihn, sondern immer nur er sich selbst verändern. Das soll er dann aber auch wirklich tun. "Mir nach!" hat als christlicher Glaubenskurs demgegenüber einen entscheidenden Vorteil: Denen, die Jesus folgen, steht für die Veränderung ihres Lebens nicht nur die eigene Kraft zur Verfügung. Durch Gottes Heiligen Geist werden sie zusätzlich dazu motiviert und befähigt. "Mir nach!" ist darum kein Appell an menschliche Potenziale, sondern ein Leitfaden für Glaubende, seine Kraft das Leben verändern zu lassen.
