Dieses Buch versucht das Feld der Beuys ́schen Wärmetheorie an aktuelle Diskussionen der Raumgestaltung anzuschließen. Denn die Topologische Wende, die Beuys fordert, ist eine viel umfassendere, als die meisten Menschen nach der kapitalistischen Kulturrevolution überhaupt zu denken wagen. Beuys fordert auf, das Material zwischen Wärmepol und Kältepol zu ergreifen und als soziale Plastik zu gestalten. Durch das Werkzeug seines Denkens ist der Mensch in der Lage, den Formpol zu ergreifen, womit er im Spezialfall (Umstülpung) mit der Form schon Inhalt erzeugt. Das ist der Punkt durch den gilt, dass alle Fragen Formfragen und Gestaltungsfragen sind. Ob politische, wirtschaftliche, umweltschutz- oder architektonische Fragen, alles ist heute eine künstlerische Frage und damit prinzipiell für jedermann zugänglich. Für Joseph Beuys jedenfalls bildete der Begriff des Raumes, wie er von Albert Einstein und Max Planck erarbeitet wurde, diesen Zugang, weil er ihn als verkürzt und unzulänglich vorfand und in den Begriff der Plastik und in den Begriff der Aktion erweitern musste. Die Raumfrage muss also in die Frage nach der Plastik überführt werden, wenn sie eine Zukunftsperspektive eröffnen soll.

Prominent exponents of the global approach - such as world systems analysis - instead have focused on particular domains such as politics or the economy. Under the label of "world society," however, some authors have suggested alternatives to the predominant equivocation of society and the nation-state. Emerging traits of late global modernity such as transnationalism, multiculturalism, individualization and supranational contexts of action raise the question of what holds society together. Responses have typically made reference to legitimization, but the modern world presents challenges to such responses, for in such a differentiated, globalized setting, legitimization can no longer appeal to the previous national, ideological or religious foundations of early modernity. From a variety of theoretical and empirical perspectives, this book explores the manner in which legitimization can be constructed by people, groups or institutions under the contemporary pressures and possibilities of modern world society. Drawing on cosmopolitan theory, postcolonial sociology, systems theory, and historical sociology, it engages with questions of human rights, processes of individualization and the constitution of transnational spaces in its examination of the challenges to legitimization. Wir leben in einem ökonomisierten Europa. Meyer (2005) spricht von der Kultur der Rationalität und Vietta (2012) vom Imperium der Rationalität. Wie sollte und könnte wirtschaftliche Erziehung in einer Kultur aussehen, in der Zweckrationalität, Funktionalität und ökonomisches Denken eine kulturbestimmende Rolle einnehmen? Drei Antworten der Wirtschaftspädagogik sind möglich: Erstens kann die beschriebene kulturelle Situation ignoriert oder als nicht vorhanden abgelehnt werden. Zweitens kann dieser Diagnose im Allgemeinen zugestimmt werden, aber im Besonderen darin kein Grund erkannt werden, über die Ausrichtung der Wirtschaftspädagogik nachzudenken. Drittens kann die Herausforderung erkannt und eine Antwort darauf gesucht werden. Diese kann einerseits in einer Wirtschaftspädagogik gefunden werden, welche die Ökonomik und das Selbstinteresse in den Mittelpunkt stellt und damit den pädagogischen Auftrag gerade darin erkennt, der Ökonomisierung und Zweckrationalisierung zu dienen. Andererseits kann eine Antwort in einer Wirtschaftspädagogik gefunden werden, die den einzelnen Menschen in den Mittelpunkt rückt und die gesellschaftlichen Folgen des ökonomischen Denkens und Handelns mitberücksichtigt sowie die wissenschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Aufgabenstellungen reflexiv in Frage stellt. Diesen Weg verfolgt das vorliegende Buch. Das Eingebettetsein von Menschen und Organisationen in Gesellschaft und Kultur eröffnet die soziale Dimension und damit das Ethisch-Moralische und das Staatsbürgerliche, das sich nicht mehr allein auf den Nationalstaat bezieht, sondern sich um das Unionsbürgerliche erweitert hat. Da die Marktwirtschaft so wie der Staat von Voraussetzungen lebt, die er selbst nicht schaffen kann, werden Ethik und Politik zu Teilen der wirtschaftlichen Erziehung. Wirtschaftliches Tun ist also mehr als der Vollzug der rein ökonomischen Vernunft: Wirtschaftliche Erziehung ist ohne wirtschaftliche Inhalte leer, ohne Ethik blind und ohne Politik rahmenlos.

Das Völkerrecht fordert, dass ehemals repressive Staaten ihre gewaltvollen Vergangenheiten aufklären müssen und verpflichtet diese darüber hinaus dazu, den Opfern von schweren Menschenrechtsverletzungen Wiedergutmachung zukommen zu lassen. Tatsächlich ist eine Vielzahl von Postkonfliktstaaten in Mittel- und Osteuropa, in Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und mit Marokko und Tunesien nun auch in der Region des Maghreb und des Nahen Ostens dieser Verpflichtung der transitionalen Gerechtigkeit auch wirklich nachgekommen. Angesichts der Tatsache, dass auf der Ebene der internationalen Politik effektive Durchsetzungsmechanismen fehlen, die souveräne Staaten zur Durchführung von Transitional-Justice-Prozessen zwingen könnten, ist das ein eher unerwarteter Befund. Wie lässt sich dieses erstaunliche Phänomen erklären? Fatima Kastner unternimmt erstmals den Versuch, die Globalisierung von Transitional Justice aus einer Perspektive der historischen Soziologie der Weltgesellschaft zu erklären. Sie beschreibt die Herausbildung dieses neuartigen Konfliktbewältigungsmodells als eine direkte Folge der Wirkmacht weltkultureller Struktur- und Deutungsmuster und rekonstruiert die sozialhistorischen Ausgangsbedingungen und weltgesellschaftlichen Dynamiken, die zur globalen Ausbreitung von Normen, Standards und Institutionen von Transitional Justice geführt haben. Am Beispiel des Transitionsprozesses in Marokko wird die lokale Wirkweise des globalen Rechtsregimes von Transitional Justice herausgearbeitet und seine weltgesellschaftliche Funktion deutlich gemacht. Transitional Justice ist zu einem globalen Handlungsmodell der Übergangsgerechtigkeit in der Weltgesellschaft geworden. Kastner beschreibt eindrücklich die sozialstrukturellen Ursprünge und ideengeschichtlichen Entwicklungslinien, die transitionale Gerechtigkeit von der normativen Ausnahme zur weltpolitischen Regel werden ließ.
