The purpose of this new and important book is to develop a systematic theory for the hidden symmetry generators, which are simultaneously the odd generators of superalgebra in relativistic quantum mechanics (Dirac's equation). It is devoted to the description of so-called hidden symmetry of the Kepler problem in classical and quantum mechanics (non-relativistic and relativistic). Moreover, the purpose is to elucidate the role of this kind of symmetries in the reduction of physical problems, to show algebraic possibilities of derivation of spectra. Since weathered crust elution -- deposited rare earth ore was discovered, the basic researches on the metallogeny mechanism, the prospecting rule and the production have been studied continuously for more than thirty years. The three leaching technologies of bath leaching with sodium chloride, bath leaching with ammonium sulphate and in-situ leaching with ammonium sulphate are developed sequentially. All of these contribute to the industry of the weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ore. However, there was no systematic work on the weathered crust elution -- deposited rare earth ore in the past due to many reasons such as the confidentiality, which was not beneficial for the development of this ore. The metallogeny theory and mining technologies of the weathered crust elution -- deposited rare earth ore are introduced systematically in this book for readers.

Our DMV Seminar on 'Classical Nonintegrability, Quantum Chaos' intended to introduce students and beginning researchers to the techniques applied in nonin tegrable classical and quantum dynamics. Several of these lectures are collected in this volume. The basic phenomenon of nonlinear dynamics is mixing in phase space, lead ing to a positive dynamical entropy and a loss of information about the initial state. The nonlinear motion in phase space gives rise to a linear action on phase space functions which in the case of iterated maps is given by a so-called transfer operator. Good mixing rates lead to a spectral gap for this operator. Similar to the use made of the Riemann zeta function in the investigation of the prime numbers, dynamical zeta functions are now being applied in nonlinear dynamics. In Chapter 2 V. Baladi first introduces dynamical zeta functions and transfer operators, illustrating and motivating these notions with a simple one-dimensional dynamical system. Then she presents a commented list of useful references, helping the newcomer to enter smoothly into this fast-developing field of research. Chapter 3 on irregular scattering and Chapter 4 on quantum chaos by A. Knauf deal with solutions of the Hamilton and the Schr6dinger equation. Scatter ing by a potential force tends to be irregular if three or more scattering centres are present, and a typical phenomenon is the occurrence of a Cantor set of bounded orbits. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale undertook to honor Albert Einstein as scientist and as humanitarian in commemo ration of his lOOth birthday during an "Albert Einstein Centennial Week", February 23 - March 2, 1979. During the course of this week two Symposia were held, entitled "Symmetries in Science" and "Einstein: Humanities Conscience", in addition to cultural and social activities honoring Einstein. This volume presents the Symposium "Symmetries in Science". It reflects the outstanding response that was given to our "Albert Einstein Centennial Week" by the international community of scientists. The motivation to have a celebration honoring Albert Einstein at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale was supplied by Dr. Paul A. Schilpp, the editor of the "Library of Living Philo sophers". Albert Einstein has contributed to this series with his autobiographical notes, a kind of autobiography of his scientific life, in a volume entitled "Einstein: Scientist-Philosopher", the most popular among all the outstanding volumes of this series. Dr. Paul A. Schilpp's presence at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale provided a natural link for an Einstein Celebration as a kind of a continuation of the contribution he made to mankind through the Einstein volume of his "Library of Living Philosophers".
