3 of the experience of the last few generations. The group of happily unexperienced events includes large bolide impacts with the Earth. The evidence for the occurrence of such impacts at intervals of some tens of millions of years is quite convincing, and Lyell stands admonished by Hamlet: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. " The role of bolide impacts on the history of life during other portions of the Phanerozoic Eon is less clear (see Raup and Fischer, both this volume), and catastrophic changes unrelated to extraterrestrial processes may have been important (see Holser, this volume). Changes in the later Precambrian biota are still difficult to interpret, in part because the preservation of soft-bodied animals from this period of Earth history is so unusual (see Seilacher, this volume). During the past billion years or so, bolide impacts have exerted a significant effect on the Earth's surface and its inhabitants, but not on its interior. The 3800 Ma rocks at Isua in West Greenland are the oldest terrestrial rocks that are currently available for inspection (see Dymek, this volume). They contain abundant evidence for the operation of chemical and physical processes that are similar to those of the present day. This situation could not have prevailed during the entire 700 Ma preceding the formation of the Isua rocks.

Fading in through the mists of maturing information age concepts, a requirement to look anew at what we thought we knew arose. The Elegance of Reason captures the human spirit not with a good mystery but a great mystery and how it is solved. Einstein famously said "we cannot solve problems using the same thinking we used when we created them." The fundamental forces of nature integrate from architectures resulting from introduced concepts of "The Fundamental Entanglement Function," "Severance," "Intrinsic Action," Event Frame, Local Frame and "Most Basic Particles" (MBPs). "Space" is 'nothing'. These concepts conspire to create configurations of MBPs manifesting the Universe and all forces in complete alignment with 100% of all facts from science. Stephen Hawking pointed out in his seminal 1975 paper on black holes that physics would never be unified until such time as someone presented a "fully coupled" model of the Universe. Modern physicists will tell you everything is a manifold of space-time & energy, yet they cannot explain why all manifolds lack intrinsic tension to a common geometric basis point. The Emergence Model herein is "fully coupled" because the geometric basis point shifts from the all encompassing space-time construct to an MBP or configuration of them in the Event Frame. And yes, Einstein was logically correct in everything he stated. However, the implications of that are quite startling and not what you'd expect. All matter and radiation then are simply configurations of MBPs and this includes "dark matter." "Dark Matter" is explained in terms of such configurations with relative entanglement density and saturation, resulting in interactions science has witnessed. Energy does not change. What does change are the MBP configurations instantiating action. Galaxy BX442 from Hubble Deep Field images is a cosmological anachronism, as are Large Quasar Groups. Their formation time and location infringe on time since the Big Bang. The Emergence Model reconciles these issues. The particle-wave duality nature of some constructs in the Standard Model is mysterious to many. The Emergence Model expands, explains and positions these issues through composite prime knots from Knot Theory. These few examples are only a few of the facets exemplified demonstrating the elegance of reason. The Elegance of Reason is an ineffable journey through the realms science and how we perceive the universe around us. More than that though it lays before us the profound path of who we really are, and in doing so, illuminates the path to the stars.
