The concept of the Echoing Reflection is the idea of constant self examination, and finding the same things time and time again. These poems are what I have found within my personal reflections and examining the people and the world around me. ISBN: 978-0-9559839-0-0

This study examines tales from The Metamorphoses by the Roman poet Ovid (43 BC-18 AD) and from The Lais by the French poet Marie de France (fl. mid-to late twelfth century) to explore a paradox: how can a vibrant, complex, and timeless vision be conveyed in convention-informed and time-bound language? Marie plays against Ovid’s tales to probe the dilemma, thereby echoing Ovid who does the same to the canonical literary monuments of his day. Both poets suggest that poetry can avoid the flattening effect of monumental canonizing not only by the creative use of literary echoes, but also by shifting perspectives on the conventional, which in turn, can encourage readers to see reflections of many stories in any given tale. Ovid and Marie suggest and encourage in this manner by presenting literary love’s topoi and traditional lovers from a variety of metaliterary perspectives, thereby eliciting active readerly memory as well as providing the opportunity to see the conventional afresh, activity that allows even canonical texts to become living memorials.

God is already at work in your life--whether or not you recognize it. Most people are too busy to see or hear God and most Christians lack the intentional practice of listening to the stories of outsiders. In Echoing the Story, Brady Bryce provides a simple way for people to come together and tell the scattered stories of their lives in order to imagine them as part of a bigger story. His innovative, narrative approach invites curious skeptics, casual followers of God, and committed disciples of Jesus into community through listening to shared stories. If you are interested in exploring the entire story of the Bible, if you wonder how its stories fit together, or if you simply want to experience God in the ordinariness of your life, then this reliable guide can lead you in listening to the echoes of God. Part spiritual formation, part discipleship, part journey through the Bible--this guidebook is an experience in hearing the word of God in life. You can learn the skill of echoing the story through listening in this informative, experiential, and missional process. As participants in the story we can begin to imagine our everyday lives as stories oriented toward God.

You are on the other side of your sound. The dictionary defines the word "Echo" as a sound that is a copy of another sound. The amazing thing about an echo is that it lasts longer than the original sound. You send out the sound, and then you hear it coming back at you as though someone else on the other side was duplicating your sound. The truth is there is someone else on the other side, and that is you. Everywhere you go, your reflection goes. You see! The universe is a mirror. Because the universe is a mirror, everywhere you go, your reflection is present with you. Because the universe is a mirror, it imitates everything that you do. An Echo is simply the reflection of the sound you make. This book shows you how to create the right sound to generate the right echo to attract good into your life and improve your thinking, character, and attitudes toward life.

In Greek mythology the beautiful Narcissus glimpsed his own reflection in the waters of a spring and fell in love. But his was an impossible passion and, filled with despair, he pined away. Over the years the myth has inspired painters, writers, and film directors, as well as philosophers and psychoanalysts. The tragic story of Narcissus, in love with himself, and of Echo, the nymph in love with him, lies at the heart of this collection of essays exploring the origins of the myth and some of its many cultural manifestations and meanings relating to the self and the self's relationship to the other. Through their discussion of the myth and its ramifications, the contributors to this volume broaden our understanding of one of the fundamental myths of Western culture.
