The Anti Christ Bilingual English German Edition written by Friedrich Nietzsche and has been published by Newcomb Livraria Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Philosophy categories.

A new 2023 translation into American English from the original manuscript of Nietzsche's 1889 Der Antichrist. This edition is bilingual- the original text is included in the back as reference material behind the English translation. This is volume 9 in The Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche from Newcomb Livraria Press. This chronological, systematic set of Nietzsche's works is the first ever bilingual "Hauptwerke" or complete major works of Nietzsche published in English & the original German. The Anti-Christ is the apotheosis of his arguments against Christianity, as well as his personal Megalomania. As the title suggests, Nietzsche sees himself as the Anti-Christ, the replacement of Christ and Socrates. He truly believed that he was going to replace Jesus in the Western world. Nietzsche is oceanic in his attempt to solve philosophy itself, as Hegel and many Continental philosophers did, but here takes it to an entirely different place. As the self-described Miltonic inversion of Job, a neo-Prometheus, the self-described Anti-Christ, he believed it was his duty to help the West undo thousands of years of history and return to a pre-socratic greek warrior society. This is realized through a restoration of amoral teleology with the Will Zu Macht, the Will to Power, to a return to a Pagan Greco-Roman culture.

Authenticity written by Patrick Finney and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-04-28 with Computers categories.

The pursuit of authenticity is a contemporary obsession. From hipster fixations on artisan coffee and vintage clothing through to the electoral success of supposedly unspun populist politicians like Donald Trump, a yearning for the real pervades our culture. Yet while highly prized and desired, authenticity is also profoundly elusive and contested. This volume stages a wide-ranging interdisciplinary interrogation of the concept, with case studies ranging from collective memory of the Second World War, through the historical fiction of Sarah Waters to the confessional art of Tracey Emin. With contributors drawn from memory studies, cultural history, English literature, theatre studies, and art criticism, it explores how authenticity is in play in diverse practices of reading, remembering, and performing. The chapters demonstrate that authenticity has no single stable definition, but is rather invoked in very diverse ways – both descriptively and prescriptively – in many diverse contexts. They also make clear that it is not an inherent quality but the product of orchestration, performance, and inter-subjective negotiation. This book was originally published as a special issue of Rethinking History.

Views Of Violence written by Jörg Echternkamp and has been published by Berghahn Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-02 with Art categories.

Twenty-first-century views of historical violence have been immeasurably influenced by cultural representations of the Second World War. Within Europe, one of the key sites for such representation has been the vast array of museums and memorials that reflect contemporary ideas of war, the roles of soldiers and civilians, and the self-perception of those who remember. This volume takes a historical perspective on museums covering the Second World War and explores how these institutions came to define political contexts and cultures of public memory in Germany, across Europe, and throughout the world.

Visualizing War written by Anders Engberg-Pedersen and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-27 with Art categories.

Wars have always been connected to images. From the representation of war on maps, panoramas, and paintings to the modern visual media of photography, film, and digital screens, images have played a central role in representing combat, military strategy, soldiers, and victims. Such images evoke a whole range of often unexpected emotions from ironic distance to boredom and disappointment. Why is that? This book examines the emotional language of war images, how they entwine with various visual technologies, and how they can build emotional communities. The book engages in a cross-disciplinary dialogue between visual studies, literary studies, and media studies by discussing the links between images, emotions, technology, and community. From these different perspectives, the book provides a comprehensive overview of the nature and workings of war images from 1800 until today, and it offers a frame for thinking about the meaning of the images in contemporary wars.

This book explores the dynamic landscapes of global youth through spatially grounded chapters focused on film and media. It is a collection of incredible works concerning children and young people in, out, and through media as well as an examination of what is possible for the future of research within the intersections of geography, film theory, and children’s studies. It contains contributions from leading academics from anthropology, sociology, philosophy, art, film and media studies, women and gender studies, Indigenous studies, education, and geography, with chapters focused on a spatial area and the representations and relationships of children in that area through film and media. The insights presented also provide a unique and eclectic perspective on the current state of children’s research in relation to the ever-changing media landscape of the 21st century. Film Landscapes of Global Youth approaches the subjects of children and young people in film and media in a way that is not bound by genre, format, medium, or the on-/off-screen binary. Each chapter offers an insightful look at the relationships and portrayals of children and young people in relation to a specific country, culture, or geographic feature. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the intersections between geography, young lives, and the power of film, television, social media, content creation, and more.
