A região da Lagoa da Conceição, considerada uma das paisagens mais extraordinárias do Estado de Santa Catarina, encontra-se em processo de profunda degradação ambiental, fruto de atitudes negligentes e inconscientes desenvolvidas nas últimas décadas pela galopante e desordenada expansão urbana, impulsionada pela especulação imobiliária ligada à indústria do turismo. Com o propósito de frear o processo da contínua destruição desse ecossistema, pensou-se que tomar algumas medidas alicerçadas na avançada tecnologia e nos conhecimentos atuais pudesse modificar o quadro ambiental. No entanto, como essas medidas, ligadas à realidade objetiva, mostraram-se ineficazes, pois visavam apenas a reparar os danos causados na região pelos moradores, buscou-se explorar a crise ambiental implantada na Lagoa da Conceição sob a ótica da ecopsicologia, analisando-se de forma mais profunda as relações população/meio, cujo resultado mostrou que quase a totalidade da população vive à margem do que está acontecendo com o ecossistema em foco. Detectado esse "estado de dormência", procurou-se encontrar os padrões energéticos e os aspectos psicoemocionais envolvidos no processo a partir dos conceitos da mecânica quântica de realidade consensual e realidade não-consensual, os quais foram associados aos antigos ensinamentos das Tradições Xamânica, Hindu e Tibetana. Nesse contexto, definiu-se um grupo de medos potenciais que servem de barreira ao empoderamento pessoal e o conseqüente reencantamento desses indivíduos com o seu meio, os quais, livres dos sentimentos de desesperança, medo e frustração, podem estar mais despertos e cientes do seu papel na restauração da saúde ambiental, que não dependerá nem de sorte nem apenas de medidas ou atitudes tomadas por outrem, mas sobretudo da "consciência" de cada um.
