De onde jorra a fonte deste progresso civilizacional da humanidade? Diz Hermes Trismegistos: "Da Sabedoria que pensa no Silêncio, e da Semente que é o Único Bem". - - - Desde tiempos inmemoriales el Hermetismo y la Rosacruz han estado presentes en la historia del Pensamiento. Sus esfuerzos por liberar al ser humano de la ignorancia, por transmitirle un conocimiento más profundo de las cosas y, así, elevarle hasta una mayor libertad de conciencia, han dejado una huella indeleble en el humanismo occidental. ¿De dónde mana la fuente de este progreso civilizador de la humanidad? Dice Hermes Trismegistos: "De la Sabiduría que piensa no Silencio, y de la Semilla que es el Único Bien". - - - Saiba mais: O Hermetismo é uma corrente do pensamento universal, originária do Antigo Egito, baseada nos ensinamentos de Hermes Trismegistos, "Hermes Três-Vezes-Grande", lendário filósofo, cujo nome é associado à deidade que combina aspectos do deus grego Hermes e do deus egípcio Thoth. Os documentos mais importantes atribuídos a Hermes são a Tábua de Esmeralda e o grupo de textos que foi designado como Corpus Hermeticum. As ideias e concepções aí presentes, influenciaram profundamente os movimentos espirituais das grandes religiões do Ocidente, isto é, o gnosticismo cristão, o sufismo muçulmano e a cabala judaica. Marsilio Ficino (1433-1499) traduziu o Corpus Hermeticum por ordem de Cosme de Médicis, acendendo de novo a chama deste conhecimento na Europa e impulsionando assim aquilo a que se chamaria Renascimento. Este período trouxe à luz do dia ensinamentos que durante a Idade Média tinham sido perseguidos, dando impulso a um novo pensamento e a uma maior consciência. O hermetismo teve pouco a pouco que encontrar uma nova linguagem, através da qual pudesse expressar o conteúdo da sua sabedoria. A intolerância ainda obrigava a esconder no íntimo de si mesmo, as aspirações mais profundas. Sob o signo de uma arte simbólica, aparentemente incompreensível, a sabedoria hermética continuou a difundir-se no seio das comunidades de estudo mais fechadas e eruditas. Surgiu então, há 400 anos, no início do século XVII, a sociedade Rosacruz. O movimento Rosacruz foi fruto da concepção espiritual de um grupo de eruditos, místicos e teósofos do sul da Alemanha, que conceberam a história de um personagem, Cristão Rosacruz, sobre a qual escreveram três obras: Fama Fraternitatis R.C. (O Chamado da Fraternidade Rosacruz), Confessio Fraternitatis R.C. (O Testemunho da Fraternidade Rosacruz) e Bodas Alquímicas de Cristão Rosacruz. Nestes três Manifestos convidava-se os sábios da Europa a empreender a realização de uma reforma geral do mundo, através do regresso a um cristianismo mais puro e autêntico, combinado com uma investigação mais aprofundada das leis da natureza. As fábulas rosacruzes denotam uma forte influência da filosofia hermética e alquímica. A influência do pensamento rosacruz na tradição ocidental moderna é extremamente notável. Pensadores como Jacob Böhme, Robert Fludd, René Descartes, Jan A. Comenius, Isaac Newton, Robert Boyle, Gottfried W. Leibniz, Karl von Eckarthausen o Johan W. Goethe, mantiveram a orientação humanista da Rosacruz. Movimentos como a maçonaria, o martinismo ou a teosofia, entre outros, consideram-se herdeiros do seu legado.
